Welp, I now know 2 people who didn't commit a murder, that's something I guess :Slime:
I'm like the opposite :Slime:as in the other factor I couldn't figure out. It seems like you are guaranteed a participation card at least :bakacat:

Act 6

In the end, the four of you were unable to find the ID card despite searching the entirety of the 1st floor. As you guys make your way back up to the 3rd floor, Eric groans out, “geez, we spent like, 30 minutes searching this place and didn’t find that thing anywhere.”

Huffing, Hana quirks an eyebrow at you, “didn’t you say it would be there?” Somehow, you feel as if you are being scolded.

You shrug. “I didn’t say it would be there, I said it likely would.” Coming to a stop outside the faculty room, you remember to ask, “anyway, before I forget, Hana, where were you prior to the discovery of Amelia’s body?”

Blinking, she answers, “huh? I was in the music room. I went running to the bathroom after I heard Sydney screaming.”

Nodding in acceptance, you push open the door to the faculty room and are pleased to see everyone has obeyed your instructions to stay put. Violet hops up from the floor upon your entrance. Running over to you, she asks, “so, did you guys find the ID?”

You shake your head, “unfortunately not. Most likely the killer disposed of it after we split up into groups, which means it could be anywhere on this floor or the 2nd floor.”

From her corner of the room, Sydney spits out, voice full of venom, “so basically, you haven't discovered anything useful.”

Turning your attention towards Sydney, you shake your head. “Actually, I’ve discovered a lot of useful information. In fact, I just about have everything I need to expose the killer. But before I can do that, I would like to discuss some things with you and Min out in the hall.”

Upon hearing this, Min frowns, “what, you’re going to interrogate us?”

“It is not an interrogation per se, but if you want to view it that way, you may. You two are the only ones I have yet to question.”

After a moment of silence, Sydney stands up with a nod. “Fine, if it will help you find the fucker who killed Amelia, I’ll tell you whatever you need to know.”

“Sydney…” Min trails off, but Sydney pays him no mind, marching out of the room with a determined look on her face.

The two of you follow her out into the hallway, and after putting some distance between yourselves and the faculty room to avoid eavesdroppers, you begin your questioning. “Sydney, you are the one who discovered Amelia’s body, yes? What happened leading up to this? I heard that you got into an argument with her.”

“Where did you hear that from? Well...it’s not like it matters now. Yes, it’s true.” Taking a deep breath, she continues. “This morning, I found a note in my bag that claimed Min was cheating on me with Amelia...At first, I didn’t believe it, I was sure there was no way my best friend would do something like that to me…What an idiot I was. ”

Min flinches, “Sydney...I-I’m sorry, I really am. Amelia and I...It was just a spur of the moment kiss, that’s all it was, there was really nothing between us!” There is a hint of desperation in his voice, begging her to believe him, but she is completely unmoved.

Gritting her teeth, Sydney hisses, “Min, unless you want me to slap you again, shut up! I don’t want to hear your excuses.” She pauses for a brief moment to collect herself before continuing. “I decided detention would be a good opportunity to find out if there was any truth to that letter, so as soon as Mr. Smith let us go, I dragged Min to the art room on the 2nd floor and confronted him. He wouldn’t even look me in the eyes and could barely manage two coherent sentences. It was obvious he was guilty. I was so pissed, I smacked him right across the face. After that, I went to the bathroom to try and cool off, but then Amelia walked in…”

Sydney clenches her fists, nails digging into her palms. “Without giving it a second thought, I started yelling at her, calling her a bunch of nasty names and demanding to know how she could do that to me. Then she started yelling back, saying it wasn’t her fault Min was more interested in her than me and that I only had myself to blame. In the end, I stormed off and went to the gym to let off some steam. The next time I saw her was when she was dead in that very same bathroom. And that’s that.”

“I see...and you, Min? Did you remain in the art room the whole time after Sydney had left?”

Min grimaces, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. “Yea...I wanted to go after her, but I figured it wouldn’t be a good idea, so I just stayed there trying to figure out how to fix things...”

Sydney shoots him an icy glare, “there’s nothing you can do to fix this. After today, I want nothing to do with you.” Turning her attention to you, she asks, “is that all you needed to hear?”

You nod, “yes, that’ll be all. You may go now.”

Min immediately dashes away upon hearing this, no doubt eager to escape Sydney’s wrath, but Sydney herself lingers behind for a moment.

“Oh, I don’t know if this is important, but during my argument with Amelia, she kept asking who told me about Min and Her. At one point, she said, ‘it was her, wasn’t it?’ I don’t know who she was referring to, but she sounded quite angry.” With that, she turns away and heads back into the faculty room.

Rather than following after the two of them, you remain where you are, a thoughtful expression on your face. The classroom where Amelia was killed, the blackmailing rumors, the note Sydney received, everyone’s alibis, and Amelia’s actions before she died.

All the pieces have finally come together. It’s time for you to solve this mystery.
