I don't know... because I stop counting when one reaches 100 threads, to gain more time and space on my grid. I'm sorry :sejeongcry:

I'll take the occasion to explain how it works a little, in case you and/or others in your case wanna ask about their amount of featured threads and understand things more. I hope it'll be understandable lol. Here are the first lines of my grid:

View attachment 2810

"1", "2", "3", "5", "10", "25", "50", "75" and "100" = the amount of featured threads that give a specific trophy (+ reward for some). "OK" means the amount of featured threads was reached and the trophy was given.

When one goes over 100 featured threads, I start recording their latest featured threads in the "+" column. Numbers in that specific column get a reset at the beginning of every "counting" session, so I know exactly how much I need to give the user everytime I count. Here, the user who has 8 threads in the "+" column received 8000PC last time I counted.

When I'll count again next weekend, that number will get deleted and I'll start counting from 0 again!
Oh yeah that makes sense that it'd be quite checking to record exact numbers once someone crosses 100 posts! Thank you, Galaxy! :hehe:

Hi
I noticed this: ''Social media trophies stopped being awarded on June 2.''

Is there a reasoning behind this decision?

//From a user who has been chasing bread to get the 75 threads trophy for a long time :peepoblanket:

ok, so I don't 100% have an answer for you, but I think it's one of two things. Either 1. we don't have anyone counting selected threads anymore
(though iirc I think Jana was taking over that role) or 2. the system being taken advantage of.

Well, that sucks... I hope social media team considers taking it back because it was a great help for users who would like to reach VIP and didn't want to play games. :brbdying:

^ Literally me
I have less than 10K to go now

Yeah, tbh I would've been open to doing the trophies system myself if I wasn't so busy. if you want the full explanation, maybe try and dm an admin on cord (who would likely know a lot more ab this topic than me)

I would like to suggest that SNS incorporates some standards in their tweets and posts about updates. I understand that you guys are aiming to encourage creativity in posts, but this absolutely should not come at the expense of accuracy - otherwise as someone else has mentioned, this site would be no different from all*pop or k***boo.

When posting about new songs, please try to accurately capture what the song is about. That's important in terms of presenting music in languages that people might not be familiar with. Furthermore, embellishing too much makes the content sound like nonsense, and that's incredibly disheartening to see. For example, what is automation hybrids? Additionally, if you worked more with your language translators, you would know that the song is really about being dangerous because the singer does not conform to their society's expectations; they cannot be reigned in by the rules. What is this post-apocalyptic world and "becom(ing) automation hybrids" completely misses the whole theme of the song.

It is the same principle as ensuring that the song summaries posted in ICYMI are accurate when introducing a song. These are works that, for some singers, contains their philosophy or their current state or something they want to say. Therefore, the lyrics may mean something to them, and this should not be lightly treated because it is their message to listeners. I don't have time to look through all the lyrics to all the songs, but I am obviously most familiar with Hebe, and I have had to correct the summaries about Hebe's songs more than once, even after I raised the issue and have translated the song for you guys.

Watch the tone you use to tweet and post as well. In-fandom jokes do not always translate well to other people outside the fandom, and should not be arbitrarily used. For example, "hag rights" for a 25-year-old.

Embellishing too much makes the post a complete turn-off because it is so inane and random that one wouldn't even want to bother with the content. For instance, a summary like this is ludicrously phrased and does not even tell the reader what the content is.

EDIT: Originally I only looked at Cpop because I read the language, but do you see why these are not passable tweets:

I haven't seen where this was mentioned and thus did not know it was a problem.

Understood. We'll take these suggestions to mind and adjust accordingly.
Also, we do require some semblance of creativity in our tweets and due to this can't just tweet:

"XX released a teaser fo YY be sure to check it out on ZZ thread on #HallyuPlus!"

as it does not exactly conform to the current standards as we require something that is more likely to grab some attention. We'll be more careful in the way we go about crafting our tweets.

The Translations team has become slightly less active lately due to lack in manpower so I'm not sure how that would go about...

As for now, I'd say it would be safer to pull creative content related to the video itself rather than the lyrics itself due to this while at the same time continuing to keep the creative nature of our tweets.

Also, feel free to provide feedback if you think the general composition of our tweets is improved so we know if we're heading in the right direction with the platform.

This is what I'm looking at now. Creative enough, but also not super out there in the exaggeration of a story. I'm trying to find a middle ground between creative and informative:

This is what I'm looking at now. Creative enough, but also not super out there in the exaggeration of a story. I'm trying to find a middle ground between creative and informative:

- sometimes it is best to tweet something simple if there really isn't that much to say about it. "XX released a teaser for YY, we're really looking forward to it! Be sure to check out their new look/concept in ZZ's thread..." is better than a superfluous description of the background setting. Or something like, "XX released a teaser for YY, it's the first time they're trying out (new genre) and it sounds like it will be great!"

- Another way of grabbing attention is simply to post the tweet with a screengrab of an interesting part of the mv.

- If translations has become less active, either ask the people who posted the content you're pulling from, people in the comments section of the video, the fandom's translator, or simply request that instead of full translations, the Translations Team let you know the theme. Music videos are a separate art form from the lyrics and song. While linked, they are the director's interpretation and not the singer's. In kpop, they are even less likely to be linked. Don't assume things from videos too quickly.

- I think your samples are quite exaggerated, still. It's not creative if it is unnecessary information.

"A horror story in three parts: Jolin Tsai's "Lady in Red" is one of the most stunning, yet chilling, MVs we've ever seen - check it out in XX's thread..."

"Joker Xue's charisma shines through his mask in "Ugly" - it's a simple music video buoyed by his emotive singing. Check it out in..."

- On that note, I also wonder if posting straight MVs with no other trimmings like reflections, or reviews, is worth it, since fans will check it out on YT first anyway.
