[I'm Your Masterkey]

Bandis, it’s already the last day of October. I’m resting today, as you all advised. Since I’ve relaxed, it seems like all the accumulated fatigue is catching up with me, and I’ve been sleeping a lot. I sleep deeply, wake up to do something for a bit, and then feel sleepy again—it’s quite amusing. The autumn leaves have turned beautiful and colorful. So, I’ve been enjoying watching the autumn foliage, eating chicken almost every day (which I had been craving), and having some chestnuts too. Isn’t autumn and winter truly the season for snacks? At least, that’s my personal opinion. From a scientific standpoint, as the cold season approaches, we need to maintain body temperature, so we instinctively eat delicious foods to accumulate some warmth through fat. (Any biology majors reading this, please confirm in the comments, haha!)
Thanks to eating plenty every fall, I’ve managed to get through each winter healthily. And from my own experience, I think eating nuts in the fall helps keep your skin less dry in winter. (Just my personal opinion—no scientific evidence, though.) Anyway, I’ll use this as an excuse to eat lots of delicious seasonal treats—roasted chestnuts, sweet potatoes, fish-shaped bread, hotteok, and so on.
Looking at the online letters you sent, it seems like you’ve captured the autumn scenery. I haven’t taken any photos of the autumn leaves; I’ve just been enjoying them with my own eyes. I mentioned before that I like looking up at the sky, and it seems I enjoy watching the falling leaves in autumn too. The chilly wind stings just a little at the tip of my nose, and with the dry air, you feel a prickling sensation in your throat as you breathe in deeply. Finally, the warm autumn hues of the leaves combine with the sunset, tinting the world in shades of red and yellow. I love this kind of autumn. Bandis, do you love it too?
As a child, I especially loved autumn leaves because I was so fascinated by maple syrup after trying it on pancakes. Maple syrup has a unique sweetness that’s different from honey, with a certain clarity to it, which for me was the key. So I liked red maple leaves particularly. I didn’t like yellow ginkgo leaves, though. I haven’t disliked many things in my life, but that was one. Both my middle and high schools had ginkgo trees lining the way to school, and they always smelled awful and stuck to my shoes. After six years, I still couldn’t get used to it. Students learned to avoid stepping on them unconsciously, like some form of obstacle training. Even when we were running late, we’d hop around like mountain goats to avoid stepping on them. And if a classmate stepped on a ginkgo, the smell would fill the classroom for the entire day. Ginkgo leaves look nice and have a pretty color, but the smell was unbearable for me. Fortunately, I don’t pass by large patches of ginkgo trees now, so I’ve managed to tolerate the smell. And I even enjoy them boiled or roasted, haha. How about you, Bandis? Can you handle ginkgo?
P.S.I’ve heard several times through offline letters that for Bandis whose first language isn’t Korean, my letters are difficult to read. It’s probably because, through translation software, my letters don’t translate very smoothly. I’m sorry! My sentences often contain figurative expressions, and some of the words I use might be unfamiliar to you, right? I’ve been careful in choosing my words to ensure accuracy and correct grammar, but I’ll try harder. Maybe it’s time I study Korean properly again, huh?
Let’s give it our best in November, Bandis!I read your comments on the ‘Perfume Workshop of Woo-seok’ on YouTube, and I was moved by how every one of you has such a kind heart. Thank you!
