Almost all Big Hit is gonna be on this show and also Niziu.
Strange that JYPE don't send TWICE there, when they about to release their new compilation album. Maybe its problem with WMJ

Yes potentially. But iirc Seventeen and TxT don't even have Japanese labels right? BTS is with Def Jam Japan which I think is a smaller label than WMJ...also Warner have had artist appear on the show in the past...
I really don't get it to be honest. JYPE doesn't have any interest marketing Twice for things like this or in the past. He never sends them to anything like variety, festivals, music shows, etc only Music Station and morning news run....it's embarrassing.
The only reason they get sent to Kohaku Uta Gassen is because to turn down an invitation would considered massively insulting to them....other than that they wouldn't even bother.
I mean Kohaku gets between 30-45% viewership and is by far the biggest show of it's kind in Japan, Nippon Music Day pulls around 8-11% so it's pretty obvious if an invitation to a much bigger show is sent to Twice than stuff like this is too and it's pretty easy to see at this point WMJ/JYPE are happier shitting out another garbage compilation album for money for their other acts than actually promoting Twice at all.

StanYikes, it was bad when I left in December but now it just seems most Once have just up and left and by the sounds of it the ones that remain are divided as fuck...no wonder it's become so easy for the anti's rhetoric to so comfortably take over and people have become quick to believe Twice are some faded relic that JYP treats like 'queens' with few people to set them straight with facts.
Gonna assume it's the same old thing. Anti's or fake Once tlak shit/make up a lie....and any Once who correct them or set them straight get called out for 'derailing' and subsequently their post are removed further reinforcing OP's lies. I knew the minute a mod banned me for calling SNSD 'crummy' but totally said nothing to Hermes when they made a fake concern thread wishing Mina wouldn't kill herself during her hiatus it was time to leave...
The community is rotten and the mods are the worst part, time and time again they have been called out for obvious bias BS with receipts only for that person to be banned.
Yeah mods are shocking (I don't think there's any mod that's a Twice fan, mostly fans of SM groups) but in general the average age seems pretty young on the site (understandably) and therefore a lot of people are just not very...smart. They can't think for themselves logically so fall to conjecture. The place is a microcosm of the social media generation, as much as they try and act like they're not "as bad" as places such as Twitter.
One of the annoying things is you have multiple users that will shit on Twice at any given moment, mainly Blinks, against maybe 2/3 Twice fans the other way, yet they act like they are the biggest victims on the site whilst liking everything the Twice antis post.

Feels like Twice have been quieter than usual recently. Going to hopefully assume they're prepping for a big comeback/something different/something unique.
I said it before M&M and was disappointed so I won't hype this comeback too much, but I really hope we have a substantial promotional period. They haven't announced anything additionally stupid yet after the compilation album, with the big qualifier being yet, as I feel like they'll try and squeeze another Japanese single out this year, which would be tragic.

StanI'm pretty sure that if next cb is a long awaited full album we'll have a repackage soon after. That's what TWICE are preparing during this pause right now imo.

Seems reasonable considering the level of earnings JYPE lost this year to Covid milking as many comebacks seems the best way to drum up cash. Though truth be told properly promoting a single album in October in Korea and Japan would make the most sense since you could milk a lot of sales out of it and not have secondary expense that come with producing/manufacturing a repack.I'm pretty sure that if next cb is a long awaited full album we'll have a repackage soon after. I was actually banned from replying to this thread and mods explained it by saying my answer "no" would cause fanwars.
is it finally time to accept BP as #1 GG? | allkpop Forums
800K preorders = we are going to have (hopefully) 1 MILL SOLD BY ONE GG ALBUM thank you YouTube bots, the 9 k-blinks, and Selena Gomez for carrying...

And look at zodiark's ass. #1 liar on forum, who constantly shared made up stats, or half truth to prove his points.

StanDo you guys see any conspiracy in the timing of Dome cancellation and refund and new album? Seems like JYP is giving fans cash only for them to buy the #3 scam album, no?

i dont think so, its just they now realized they can do shit about japan concert situation. they wont have any concert until end of 2021, so sad bruh, twice main profit are from japan concert. it will take hit for them for sure.
also bighit are damage too hard, eventhough BTS are internationally group, but lets be honest their income are still mostly from Japan just like Twice, thats why they are massively promote txt now, the promotion they got for TXT in japan is insane..
btw do you think twice will appear in kouhaku again this year?
can niziu attend kouhaku or some big japanese end year show?
im also feel sad for ITZY
you know, actually most of Jnetz support twice itzy and niziu but, itzy has a good chance to blow up when they debut in japan with TXT now promoting all over, they got fucked bcs of corona.
but the good news is, i also think C-midzy are now catching up to numbers of C-onces, their chinse fanbase is growing strong right now, i see in my timeline some of C-Netz (arguabyly itzy fan competitor) already throwing shits on chinese forum just like they do to twice.
i will not surprised if next itzy album will cros 350-400k.

Honestly, I don't think JYPE/WMJ even know what they are doing half the time, nevermind trying to mastermind something like that lol. I think the re-booms of Covid just showed them it's pretty much gonna be a long time for concerts again so postponement is just not viable.
Plus that would also assume JYPE would be able to give them their money back in time for September 6th when in reality some fans have been waiting on a refund since it was first postponed so I doubt they'll lift their feet to get J Once their cash back anytime soon.
@zai hard to tell, WMJ has basically not promoted Twice in Japan since sometime last year. The last time I remember them having anything that wasn't a 5 min segment on Music Station was the documentary around the time of DreamDay. I honestly think they were lucky to get an invite last year and with the near 0 promo they had this year and Covid I would be shocked if they go invited.

yeah, i dont think they will invited again this year. 3 consecutive years is a good run though, next year i think niziu will attend kouhaku.
twice has been really quiet lately, i hope they prepare and practice for big album in october and comeback stronger than before..

StanSo BEP is finally debuting their own gg after all, or at least it seems so. The way Rado gave that interview we discussed earlier kind of gave me that feel that they are no longer planning to work with TWICE and thus have no NDA restrictions or something. I'm not saying BEP title is impossible since it can be already produced in advance

Yeah agreed. I mean from the news this morning it would seem they have moved into a much more advance stage with their group and debut will surely be the next phase of that.
Without any major label, trainee system, connections or experience in the market from an mgmt point of view this is going to be extremely tough for BEP. Especially when you consider people in Korea don't actually know them well they just know their songs so I imagine Rado and Kyu-Sung know this and realize if it's going to work it's gonna be because the group has probably the best kpop producers making title tracks for them.
So that makes me think BEP will be keeping the top shelf stuff for their girls and not selling it to, what is now, the competition. This also might explain why Dumhdurum is the only thing they've released in Korea since Fancy, that's 1 song in like 17 months which is much lower than usual for them, so I'm guessing their own GG is keeping them busy right now. Shame if so as it's a big loss to Twice.

My thoughts tho is, yeah BEP are def' needle movers for Twice, but right now their international fandom is at an all time high so I think that's safe for the time being. What Twice really need is a big domestic hit and BEP can be that but also the last few number 1's for Twice haven't been songs by them so I don't think that's under threat.

So for better or worse whether or not you agree with it, the protest is going ahead.
It would seem enough Once donated and they reached their goals and the next phase of the protest has moved forward. What it will achieved, if anything, remains to be seen. Regardless, it's going ahead now.

My only concern is BEP bring a certain quality and I don't trust the "panel" to pick the right producer or song anymore. They seem out of touch

Maybe, but it's also worth noting for BEP while I think Fancy was great and help push Twice internationally I feel like they were already on an upward trajectory so they kind of carried the song a lot, domestically it still under-performed by Twice's standard. I like their songs a lot and they often do well for Twice, but I also feel like a lot of Once overate their current importance to Twice and how much we 'need' them back, fans should realize the last time they had a number 1 was 2017 iirc.My only concern is BEP bring a certain quality and I don't trust the "panel" to pick the right producer or song anymore. Right now i think Twice needs a big domestic hit and JYP needs to put some fucking effort in and admit to himself the people in his company responsible for title tracks haven't got a clue what they are doing lately. Not Shy was a disaster and following Wannabe and Icy Itzy couldn't afford that to happen, buy JYP's arrogance tanked them as a group.
Twice also really couldn't afford More & More, but here we are. A lazy 4 year old shitty b-side that performed like dog shit. Already out of the Melon top 50 and 78 on Genie after 3 months...truly garbage. JYP needs a hit for Twice and I'm afraid October is probably the last chance.
He ca't realistically look at an OMG b-side out charting everything from his company in 2020 and not take some ownership over that.

StanLmfao this post literally took me back to fun times of Kpop 2012ish. This is what we thought when Brave debuted his boy and girl groups. The same Brave then made AOA famous and gave couple of hit songs to others while his groups kept flopping. Composers make money from composing. Bigger the artist is - better for them. So they ain't gonna stop making money and focus on their new gg. Never. So BEP is finally debuting their own gg after all, or at least it seems so. Domestically it hit near 700m digital points and Fancy has still been the most important song for growth since probably Likey. Lets not forget that the month had Jannabi's song, BWL and Bom, some of the biggest songs of the year, so even though it didn't hit no.1 (unlucky timing which will always play a part in looking at peak positions), looking at other metrics it did better than multiple other Twice songs in terms of weeks in the Melon top 10, weeks in the top 100, digital points and whatnot.
Their song for Apink this year has done better than M&M and they're half the name Twice are. Their last no.1 was in 2017 as before Fancy that was the last time they produced for Twice.
Don't get me wrong, people overstate their importance so I don't disagree there, but at a time when Twice need some domestic stability they are more likely to provide than anyone else which is why I think it'd be good if they were producing the next title. Feel like the fandom would get behind a BEP track more than anyone else as well, if JYP is involved all hell is breaking loose lmao.
Basically I trust BEP over the panel on recent results.

That only applies if that's all the composer is doing, producing music. Obviously than yes getting the biggest possible hit mean the biggest potential payday will come from sending your best stuff to the biggest acts.Lmfao this post literally took me back to fun times of Kpop 2012ish. Never.
However the situation with BEP is a little different as they are in a position comparable to where say JinYoung Park was in the 90's and they are trying to start themselves onto a path of having their own groups and likely company one day which represents potential future earnings far far greater than any hit song. They have been in the industry together for what? 7 years now and collectively have nearly 15 years of experience in Kpop. they know full well the best chance for their group to have any shot is with the best possible quality music they can produce. What do you think seems more appealing to BEP, getting another TT for Twice or debuting their GG with a song as big as that? The answer is obvious.
@NewUser I agree it helped Twice grow internationally, but as I said before I feel like they were on a upward trajectory in that regard. I think Fancy did well enough for them and showed really strong longevity but Yes or Yes and Dance the Night Away both did a lot better domestically and I think that's important at this moment for Twice, I don't think BEP is as strong domestically right now as before.
Also Dumhdurum did better than More & More? Is that true, as far as I can tell it either performed worse or around the same, which to me is more damning for BEP considering M&M is from 2015, was a rejected b-side from a producer with 0 experience in the Korean music market, the fact that it's even close should tell us something.
The undeniable fact remains that for Twice's next title track we should NOT be looking at which producers should or shouldn't work with Twice, instead JYP should be looking for a song that suits them and has the potential to be a hit, that's paramount. No bullshitting around with half assing it or pandering to fans....we need a quality title track that's perfect for Twice and consistent with their sound.

I don't know, Fancy wasn't big internationally out of the blocks to say it was just Twice, it went viral on kpop twitter which is when it really took off internationally.
Not sure how that's damning, anyone that knows how charting works knows the name matters as much as the song in SK. It's Apink's biggest hit in years domestically and for one of their songs to do better than Twice's title, 5 year old reject or not, is pretty impressive. It spent longer at no.1, in the top 10, higher on the weekly, and despite coming out months before is only getting 2m less points a week than M&M and there is barely a 20k ul difference between them on Melon.
Lets not forget they also did Gotta Go last year which was one of the biggest songs in SK in 2019.
As I said I don't disagree with the point you're making, I just don't trust JYPE to make the right choice.
