I thought since we're gonna be rather low on content for the month due to the fancon tour, we could have some discussions to fill in the empty space.

Since we're getting close to BUS because of you i shine's first anniversary, I thought we could talk about how their first year has gone.

As such, I wanted to ask these questions.

1. What have been your top 3 BUS songs released thus far?

I'm gonna limit it to just their post debut songs. Because of You, I Shine, Watch Your Step, Feeling Bab Wah Ooh, No Matter What, brother zone, เฟี้ยว (Feow/Fiao - BUSSING THAILAND theme), Good Quality Picture, Liar, and Transformer are our options. Note, we're just talking about the song here and not the MV. Btw, I'm asking for a top 3 since I already know your top 2 and I want some sort of a surprise here.


2. Which has been your favorite styling/concept for BUS?

Should this be two separate categories? I wasn't' sure. Anyway, since you might have forgotten, I'll remind you of all of the styling BUS has had so far The BUSSING THAILAND songs are excluded as they have no styling

Now that you've had time to refresh your memory, which styling is your favorite and why? Also, which styling/concept do you think fits the group the best?


I'll answer first

For question 1, my top 3 songs are.

1. Because of You, I Shine
2. Good Quality Picture
3. เฟี้ยว (Feow/Fiao)

Number one was my clear choice. As soon as I heard that song I HAD to follow BUS Because of You, I Shine is just perfect. It's so catchy with and an instant earworm. I can literally listen to this song ALL DAY. In fact I did listen to it all day every day from December 6th until Watch Your Step released. And I NEVER got tired of it. I'm already kind sick of hearing Liar (no hate, I like the song). But Because of You I Shine is one of those NEVER skip songs and the perfect debut for BUS. It also has a pretty fair line distribution with everyone getting 2 parts each. Yeah some parts are shorter than others, but that doesn't bother me. 100/10, would relisten to again.

Good Quality Picture is just so beautiful The lyrics are very heartwarming, the melody is so serene, and more than anything I love that it's a song the members created together for BEUS and for the memories of their first travel show. It's also another song I really never get tired of hearing. I could replay it all day!

เฟี้ยว is on the list simply because....I think it has the best line distribution of all of their songs. It's not a secret that the rapper line of Alan, Jinwook, JungT, Heart, and Nex usually are on the lower end of having lines. That's why I appreciate this song. They allow all of the members to share lines with the random chants all throughout the song, which allows these members to get more time on the song. Also, in general เฟี้ยว is just a bop that's so easy to jam to. A perfect summer song! My only issue with it is that I wish it had an official English title

Now for question 2

My favorite styling is the black and pink (warning) styling for Watch Your Step. I'm really just a sucker for pink, but I also think the clothing fits everyone so well They have an aura where they look cute and cool at the same time which fits the song's sound very much.

However, as for which styling I think fits the group the best, it's the multicolored (amusement park) styling for Watch Your Step. This to me fits BUS's vibe perfectly to a (Jung)T . It takes that cute-cool feel of the warning outfits and turns it up by 11. I just can't get enough of it. When I think of the BUS members, that image pops up in my brain. It's not as wild as dressing Copper and Nex like the grim reaper in Liar and Transformer, but also not super uwuboi like brother zone (even though I enjoy both of these styles as well. I've always been biased to super multicolored stylings in these kinds of groups, and this one works the strongest for me.

Naturally, my Top 3 are:

1. Transformer
2. Liar
3. Watch Your Step/Brother Zone

Do I really even need to say anything about Transformer? It's such a bop! Definitely more my style than the previous songs. I prefer a dance-focused, catchy, darker concept sounding song. Rap heavy, generally not what people would consider public friendly. And Transformer ticks all of those boxes! I really love several parts in the song, but my favorites are when they say "Run to me, Bumblebee, I'm a Transformer" and after the second chorus when they all sing "Welcome to the new world" is my favorite part of the whole song It sounds SO trippy, and I LOVE that in songs. It's totally my type!

Liar, I think I've already talked a lot about, but it's similar to Transformer, it's a darker concept and even though I have some gripes with some parts of it (JungT's rap is WAY too quiet compared to the rest of the mix and it really does feel a bit long to me , but that seems to be standard for BUS), I otherwise really like the song. The rap has grown on me, despite feeling a bit of of place and 90s-esque compared to the rest of the song. The chorus is my favorite part, it's simple but catchy.

The third song was kinda a tie, but if I have to pick one over the other, I would probably pick Watch Your Step since I'm not a huge ballad person. Watch Your Step was the first BUS song I didn't mind listening to more than once And while I do think that Liar and Transformer do a better job of catering to my specific tastes, it's still really catchy and it almost feels kinda nostalgic listening to it And also as well as Alan's ICONIC rap solidified him as my bias! I'm definitely a Watch Your Step era BEUS

I just like the very last chorus of Brother Zone. The higher key sounds very beautiful and I actually find myself enjoying the song more once it gets to that part. I initially didn't care much for it, but I kinda unironically like it now~


2. Which has been your favorite styling/concept for BUS?

These have been my favorites so far in order

WHAT PERFECTION

I didn't expect BUS would pull off styling like this as well as they did, since I was so used to their flowery boyfriend concept, but this was GREAT

I definitely agree with the masses that Liar was easily Peem's era, but pretty much every member looked so good! Even baby AA pulled off the concept so well!! Copper, Heart, Alan, Thai, Marckris, Khunpol, and Jinwook were probably my other favorites from this era! Such a POWERFUL era, easily my favorite!

My second favorite era because I really like the black x pink in my area outfits. And like I said before, this era is very nostalgic for me Also, I miss Nex with longer hair I hope he'll grow it out again.

I don't really have a favorite for this styling, they all suit it very well. It's a good mix of kinda darker but still kinda boyfriend But if I had to pick, probably Peemwasu or Alan~

You expected this to be higher, didn't you? Well, I do like these looks, but I have a special pet peeve for when people have a bunch of sht all over their face that kinda looks like a piercing. Even though it's not, IDK, it still kinda bothers me as a bit off-putting depending on where it's placed. It's hard to explain. Like Marckris's sticker/tape thingy being right under his lips is one of those ones that I really don't like I'd like this a lot more if not for the stuff on their faces. But other than that, the outfits are good~ My faves are probably Alan, AA, Jinwook and Peemwasu~ Aren't my faves so lucky to always have such good styling?

I don't normally post about the members on social media, but I couldn't not post this. Maybe I should pick their silliest posts and start adding them here.

Yeah, I'm expecting bright pop, it's their bread and butter. And like you said, they probably don't wanna overdo it with the darker concepts. Since it's an album, something brighter would be more public friendly and probably allow them to reach a wider audience.

The only scenario I could see it being something darker is if they feel like they're really popping off with the darker concepts in terms of popularity You'd know more about that than me, but I still feel like going with something more boyfriendy is the safer option.

Honestly, looking at other boy groups, I think this is currently the season for darker concepts. Many other boy groups have done similar concepts to Liar and Transformer in the past few months. Maybe it has something to do with being close to Halloween time, but I feel like in a few months time, everyone will be moving back to the brighter side and BUS will likely follow.

It's hard to say if any new release leads to more popularity. BUS has been doing better than usual with Youtube views, but many people are known to just flock to a video because it's being recommended to them, but not actually stick around to support the group. But even if that hypothetically was the case, I still don't think it would influence the choice around future concepts because I doubt the company or even the members wants to lock BUS into one concept so early in their career.
