Hinatazaka46 blasts in at No. 1 on the latest Billboard Japan Hot 100, dated Sept. 30 to Oct. 6, with "Konnani sukini nacchatte iino?," the J-pop girl group's third single with a title that roughly means, "Is it OK to like you so much?" in English.

The new single performed well in the physical metrics of the chart's methodology, selling 475,974 copies to rule physical sales and coming in at No. 2 for look-ups.

The group's singles have all launched at more than 400,000 copies in its first week, with their debut single "Kyun" selling 474,893 and second single "Doremisolasido" selling 448,819 copies, respectively. The former has sold 637,080 copies to date, while the latter has sold 547,513, and the third release is expected to also reach similar heights.

Official HIGE DANdism's "Pretender" topples Kenshi Yonezu's "Uma to Shika" and returns to No. 2 after four weeks. Downloads and streaming for "Pretender" have both decreased slightly -- 14,296 downloads from last week's 14,449; and 5,584,313 streams from 5,664,473 previously -- but video views have gone up, at 4,746,720 weekly views from 4,566,194 the week before. The track logs its 20th week atop the streaming list and rules video views as well, fueling its rise on the Japan Hot 100.

Meanwhile, "Uma to Shika" continues to rule downloads for the eighth week, though figures for this song are decreasing slightly also, and it looks like the race between these two songs will continue for awhile.

Shingo Katori surprise-dropped a new track called "10%" at midnight Oct. 1, on the same day the Japanese sales tax was hiked up to -- you guessed it -- 10 percent. The clever timing of the song's release combined with its upbeat electro-pop flavor made it an instant favorite among fans, and the song debuts at No. 7 on the Japan Hot 100 -- coming in at No. 2 for Twitter mentions, No. 3 for downloads, and No. 27 for radio airplay -- demonstrating the multi-talented former SMAP member's lasting star power.

The Billboard Japan Hot 100 combines physical and digital sales, radio airplay, Twitter mentions, YouTube and GYAO! video views, Gracenote look-ups and audio streams from Amazon Music Unlimited, Apple Music, AWA, Google Play Music, KKBOX, LINE MUSIC, Rakuten Music, RecMusic provided by Gfk Japan, as well as dHits and Uta Pass, and karaoke data from Daiichikosho and XING.
