Do you continue playing a game after finishing Story Mode?

I usually do to complete the database but it's usually super hard to do that so I don't really finish it I just play a new game

Depends what the game is really. If it's an open world game that you can still have fun playing I do. Or if it's a game that still has side quests to complete I play it. If it's just a linear game with nothing else to do I generally don't continue playing. With games like that I usually wait a few years and play them from the beginning again.

But for Pokemon Fire Red and all that I will after I clock the island missions

Depends on the game... If its something like Simpsons hit and run or GTA I play post-story mode just to run people over lmaooo
Other stuff like Pokemon, not so much

It depends on the game. If there's optional, challenging content then usually. Plus I'm a completionist, who usually tries to collect trophies. Though if it's really grindy, sometimes I'll get bored and stop.

I'm kinda completionist, so I will hunr down every single easter egg and secrets.

However, games with unreasonable grind to get all unlockables due to microtransactions are ignored.

If not I usually don't play once the story mode is finished

If an average majority of people can complete the game in total then yes but if only few then i just replay story mode as normal
