#1- NCT127 - STICKER

NCT127 made their return this week with 'Sticker', which, in typical NCT127 fashion is anything but a typical pop song. This release is full of interesting instrumentals that don't sound like they'd go together, but the group somehow makes it work. This release feels somewhat reminiscient to the groups' 2018 single 'Regular' in the way that they make use of the operatic and acapella effects throughout the song. 'Sticker', however, differentiates itself from 'Regular' through its use of an off-key recorder throughout almost the entirety of the song, which distorts the song giving it a further experimental feel that sets it apart from their previous singles. Some would see this as a risky move, as this could possibly alienate the casual audience from being drawn to the song and instead drive them away from the group. But if there's one thing that distinguishes NCT127 from the supergroups' other sub-groups, it is the fact that they have almost never catered to the general audience, but rather strays over to the experimental side which encapsualtes the group's 'Neo' experimental based sound to the utmost degree. All-in-all, 'Sticker' is a great release, but not something that would suit everyone's tastes and continues their foire into the experimental side of music and composition. Though if I'm being honest, however apathetic I'm feeling towards the song right now, I'm sure that I'll have 'Sticker' on repeat two weeks from now, as just like their previous releases It'll likely be a sleeper hit, at least for me.

#2- KIM YOHAN & CHUU WITH ERIC BELLINGER - THE WORLD IS ONE 2021
Moving on from NCT and onto a more upbeat standardised release is Kim Yohan, Chuu & Eric Bellinger's 'The World Is One 2021'. This release is a part of MBC's collaboration with the NGO, World Vision "2021 World is One Global Movement" in an effort to try and create a better world for the children that have been marginalized annd disadvantaged by the ongoing pandemic. This song is an inspiring and upbeat release that seeks to send a message of positivity to their target audience, children. Which in my opionion, they have absolutely succeded in doing. Chuu & Kim Yohanns vocals harmonize in a way that will have you singing 'World Is One' until you have the entire song memorized from start to finish. The collaboration has also prompted a dance challenge as seen through the simple dance moves showcased throughout the music video. In addition to this, MBC will be hosting a '2021 World Is One' online charity concert on the 30th of October, of which this song is the campaign song for.
