JANUARY 27 - FEBRUARY 2

Hello our dear users and welcome to another one of our ICYMI weekly recaps! Grab a seat, a warm meal and your favourite drink and let's go through this week of Asian Entertainment together!

BY MIATHEIKONIC AND GALAXY

MONDAY:
#1- Monday started with BTS news! First, we learnt that they have collaborated with Lauv for his upcoming album, "How I'm Feeling", which will be released on March 6th. Then, Hyundai announced on Twitter that the group would remain their Global Brand Ambassador for 2020. The boys are really everywhere!

#2- The threat of the Coronavirus is now impacting the Asian Entertainment industry. In China,
several drama producers have announced their decision to suspend filming for safety reasons - the list includes dramas "Legend of Fei", "Thank You Doctor" and "Like a Flowing River". In other areas, AKB48 Team SH have cancelled events in Shanghai and their visit to Akihabara Theater on February 1st via a 'self-restriction notice'. Last but not least, South Korean broadcasters addressed plans regarding music shows' filming and took sanitary measures to protect all attendants, crew members, and artists. Super Junior announced their decision to record their comeback show "The Stage" without any studio audience, and KBS eventually did the same for Friday's episode of "Music Bank".

#3- Unfortunately for fans of Nogizaka46, bad news dropped this week:
Sasaki Kotoko, who had joined in 2013, will bid farewell to her teammates very soon. The idol wishes to focus on her studies and will be graduating from the group in late March. We wish her good luck in her future endeavors!

#4- Monsta X's Joohoney hasn't been feeling well lately and, on Monday, the idol decided to
share his struggles in a heartbreaking letter to his fans. He explained that his mental health is currently not the best, and said he's trying to recover with the help of medication, regular work-outs and activities. We hope he'll be able to get better very soon, and will patiently wait for his comeback!

TUESDAY:
#1- The health of our favorite artists kept being a concern on Tuesday. First, we learnt that Son Ye Jin had to be taken to the emergency room while filming an episode of the drama "Crash Landing On You" - the actress was said to be suffering from exhaustion. Later in the day, RBW announced that Mamamoo's Wheein wouldn't attend the 29th Seoul Music Awards (which was broadcasted on Thursday) after being diagnosed with Type A Influenza. We wish both of them a speedy recovery!

#2- If you miss Wonder Girls' glory days under JYP's management, you probably felt even more nostalgic when you read that
Yubin and Hyelim have decided not to renew their contracts with the company. However, we have no doubt both of them will keep doing amazingly in the future, and we wish them the best of luck!

#3- Thankfully, different comeback news made Tuesday a little bit better! It's been reported that
ITZY will return in spring, and that their new music video has already been filmed. As for Cherry Bullet, the girls will make their comeback on February 11th. Let's anticipate!

#4- Drama fans, rejoice! Former I.O.I member
Kim Sohye has been confirmed to be a female lead for "Contract Friendship", which will be broadcasted on KBS later this year. She will reportedly star alongside Lee Shin Young ("Crash Landing on You"). Congratulations to both of them!

#5- Last but not least,
Kim Wooseok (UP10TION, X1) opened a Twitter account on Tuesday! It's time to follow him and keep an eye out for his future posts!

WEDNESDAY:
#1- We are always happy to see new concerts added to idols' schedule, meaning more chances to meet fans. Wednesday brought two of those. First, BTS announced a new tour stop, with the Dutch being lucky fans as a concert will be held in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Secondly, after her first two sold out concerts, Baek Yerin announced the encore concert in Seoul's KSPO Dome. The fun is guaranteed for both of these events!

#2- More and more details are being revealed for JYPE's anticipated Nizi Project!
Trainees Miihi and Rima were both revealed as participants in this show (you can also watch their auditions here), while Twice's Japanese members Sana and Momo were announced to be the judges for the final stage of the show. We wish all contestants the best of luck!

#3- In a light of the Coronavirus outbreak,
Super Junior has donated 10,000 masks to the Community Chest of Korea in order to prevent the virus from spreading. We congratulate the boys on this good deed!

#4- Award shows aren't over just yet, and
The Fact Music Award revealed their show's lineup full of well-known names. Will your favourite artists be participating?

#5- SuperM will continue their US promotions by announcing an
appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Hopefully they will enjoy the show!

THURSDAY:
#1- Thursday started off in shocking news, as Kakao revealed a list of 9 agencies that are a part of a lawsuit against Melon. Let's see what will happen!

#2- Following the X1 disbandment, PlayM Entertainment announced that Victon's leader
Han Seungwoo will return to the group's activities and promotions. Alices, are you excited?

#3- Busy Thursday for the most famous Kpop sisters!
Krystal Jung will be returning to acting, as she will participate in OCN's military drama with Jang Dong Yoon and Moon Jung Hee. As for Jessica Jung, she disclosed an excerpt from her anticipated novel, and it definitely looks interesting! As we wait to read the novel and watch Krystal's drama, let's follow Jessica's newly opened YouTube channel!

#4- Seungri is facing more charges as Choi Junghoon's trial came to an end. Seungri was charged without detention for overseas gambling and prostitution solicitation, while Choi Junghoon, also without detention, was found guilty of bribery.

#5- Kpop fans were saddened by the news that Idol Room will be finishing this show's season on February 11, with the last guest being SECHSKIES. Let's hope the show will be back with a new season quickly!

FRIDAY:
#1- As it was announced earlier in January, Perfume will be the first guests of Disney's new "My Music Story" show. For the show, as stated on Friday, they will be covering "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid! We can't wait to hear their version of the song!

#2- Former 4minute's Jeon Jiyoon, now better known as Jenyer, has found her new home and
signed an exclusive contract with Astory Entertainment. We wish her luck in her future endeavors!

#3-
JYPE will be holding their new trainee showcase on February 27th. Let's keep an eye on them!

#4- Sadly, as the Coronavirus outbreak grows stronger and stronger, more overseas activities were cancelled through this week.
NU'EST Ren's Finale Live Show in Macau has been postponed until further notice, Blackpink's Lisa won't be travelling to China to film Idol Producer as stated by YGE, and Pentagon's fan showcase and Momoland's Japanese fansign also won't be held. Let's hope they all stay safe!

SATURDAY:
#1- KBS' Special Music Bank in Dubai is coming closer and closer, so the producers of the show finally revealed its lineup. Do you like the names you see there?

#2- Let's light up this week a bit with comeback news! First,
Park Bo Gum is planning to release his first full Japanese album in March. Also scheduled for March, Hinapia's return is already under preparations! In the meantime, BigHit announced the long awaited 8eight comeback for next week! We can't wait to listen to all of these songs!

SUNDAY:
#1- Even more idols' schedules have been postponed by the end of this week. WJSN's and Twice's fan events have both been delayed until further notice, in China and Japan respectively. The same decision was made for GOT7's concert in Bangkok, and Taeyeon's and NCT Dream's Singaporean tour dates. Lastly, National Radio and Television Administration of China announced that they have halted all actors' and producers' schedules. Let's hope everyone remains safe and healthy.

#1- SUPER JUNIOR - 2YA2YAO!
Who said that a senior group can't surprise their fans anymore? On Tuesday, Super Junior dropped their 9th album's repackage, "Timeless" - and the concept they have chosen for this comeback is definitely different from anything we could have expected. This time, the nine members trusted Zico to produce their new main track, "2ya2yao!" (pronounced "iyaiyao"), and their collaboration logically resulted in a hip-hop banger. If you are curious to see how Super Junior deals with such a song, it's time for you to check out the video below!

#2- HINATAZAKA46 - EVEN WITHOUT OPENING THE WINDOW
Warning: cute song coming your way! On February 19th, Hinatazaka46 will release their new single "Sonna Koto Nai Yo". To promote this comeback, the group posted the music video of "Mado o hirakenakute mo", which is a feel-good track with very pleasant vocals, on Thursday. The concept of the video will definitely put a smile upon your face: the girls, who are still wearing pajamas, start their morning by laughing and dancing around in a hotel room. They later get dressed and move to the lobby to show us the song's real choreography. Join the fun by watching the music video now!

#3- SECHSKIES - ALL FOR YOU
When they were disbanded in 2000 in the prime time of their career, SECHSKIES fans were left wishing for more, never taking the disbandment as final. 16 years later, the boys returned under YG Entertainment and continued their promotions as if they had never stopped. Now they have welcomed 2020 with the 90's R&B sound of "All For You" mini album and its lead single of the same name. The song is clearly nostalgia-inducing, with its chill tempo and lovely lyrics. Let SECHSKIES take you to the 90's when you listen to the song down below!

#4- HYOLYN & CRUCIAL STAR - HUG ME SILENTLY
It's been quite some time since we last had a chance to enjoy Hyolyn's solo work. The singer chose "Hug Me Silently" to represent her long anticipated album, "xhyolynx". Her voice, passionate and strong as ever, suits Crucial Star's mellow rap in this R&B Ballad. To emphasize the beauty and clarity of her vocals, the music video shows a static image with animated drawings. Once again, Hyolyn proves that she is one of the most versatile solo acts, and you can witness it here!

#5- GOLDEN CHILD - WITHOUT YOU
Golden Child returned earlier this week with their repackage, "Without You", and its lead single of the same name. "Without You" served as a continuation of "Wannabe", their November comeback. "Wannabe" had showed a more mature side of the boys - and now they have become men who are overflowing with confidence and strength. See the change down below!

#6- SIYEON - PARADISE
Dreamcatcher's golden vocal, Siyeon, blesses us with her new single "Paradise", released earlier this week. The group is famous for their signature bold rock music, but Siyeon went another way with a mellow, chill ballad-like song - and she sounds as perfect as usual. The simplistic MV emphasizes both the beauty of the instrumentals and her voice. Let's enjoy this release, with the hope that this is just the first of many more solo endeavors!

#7- LEE HAERI - JUST CRY
Do you ever feel like crying, but even if everything aches, you just can't bring yourself to do so? Lee Haeri didn't fear tackling this tough subject in her latest ballad "Just Cry". Her powerful, yet so soft and mesmerizing voice encourages the listener to let their all worries down and follow the beat of the song. We now know what to listen to whenever we are feeling blue!

BY MELTROSZ

#1- Many may be unfamiliar with them, but it only took rookie girl group ANS (which stands for Angel N Soul) two weeks for their "Say My Name" music video to reach 1 million views on YouTube!

#2- After 1 year, 10 months, and 25 days, the seemingly unbeatable record of most Perfect All-Kill hours by iKON's "Love Scenario"
has been broken by Zico's "Any Song"! As of February 1, 2020, at 3:00 PM KST, the song is still going strong at its 246th PAK hour!

#3- After years of hard work, Taeyeon has finally
won her very first solo daesang when she won the "Digital Daesang" at the 2020 Seoul Music Awards!

#4 - Just like their sister group Twice, ITZY
shows that girl groups have as much selling power as boy groups when their Minneapolis concert became the highest-grossing rookie group concert show! The second and third on the list are ATEEZ's Big Top show in Sydney and Granada Theater show in Dallas, respectively!
