MONDAY:
#1- Monday started with BigHit doing business with other agencies: it was first announced that they acquired Source Music (home of GFriend)
and that they are also in the process of snatching two others, including a top boy group's one!
#2- Surprising news dropped for INSPIRIT: it was revealed that INFINITE's Sungjong secretly enlisted in the army on July 22. He posted a letter to
his fans on Instagram to announce it. We wish him the best!
#3 - After School's E-Young is working on a solo project! She wrote on Twitter that she is currently preparing a self-produced album, that she hopes
to release before the end of the year. Let's anticipate!
#4 - Produce X 101's individual trainee Lee Hyeop has joined Woollim Entertainment! After Produce 48's Juri, who was signed there a few months
ago and is now a member of Rocket Punch, it is time for Hyeop to officially prepare for the agency's next boy group's debut. Congratulations to him!
TUESDAY:
#1- Speaking of Rocket Punch, we learnt on Tuesday that Yeonhee is the group's leader and that they will debut on August 7! In the meantime,
their company keeps dropping teasers everyday - let's anticipate their debut!
#2- Only a week after debuting with "Movie Star", the members of CIX got their first music show win on the show. Congratulations to them!
#3- Kang Daniel keeps himself busy: it was revealed that he is filming his first CF as a solo artist with Korea Telecom (KT), which is Korea's
biggest telecommunications company!
WEDNESDAY:
#1- SM Entertainment is in trouble: it was reported on Wednesday that the company is operating on a deficit and might need to suspend
SMTOWN'S COEX Artium. As an attempt to make things better, they re-organised their executive structure.
#2- The situation is not better on CJ ENM's side: the media company was seized on the same day, and an investigation will determine if votes
were manipulated or not during Produce X 101's last episode.
#3- Former 9Muses' Kyungri left Star Empire! The agency stated that she decided not to renew her contract with them. Kyungri had joined
9Muses in 2012, and performed with the group until its disbandment in February. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours!
#4- Somi's fans can now follow their favourite idol on Twitter! She does not seem to be very active on the social media platform for now,
but she opened her account and dropped her first tweet on Wednesday.
THURSDAY:
#1- M2's MGMA took place on Thursday! Among the winners, we can find IZ*ONE (most popular artist), BTS (top video & artist), and Twice
(best selling artist). You can see the complete list in this thread and watch all the performances in this one!
#2- U-Kiss' member Kiseop announced happy news on Instagram: he will be getting married on August 24! His future wife is Jung Yoona,
a model and actress. Congratulations to the couple!
#3- KCON Thailand announced IZ*ONE, Stray Kids, ONEUS, Kim Jaehwan, Everglow and The Boyz as part of their first artist lineup! Concert tickets
will be available on August 17. Good luck to all of our users who will try to grab some!
#4- After Fendi and Cartier, Jackson Wang is now the ambassador of Armani Perfume! The idol had attended the brand's latest event in China last
month and shared his happiness to be their new model on Weibo!
#5- NCT127 opened their official Japan fanclub "NCTzen 127-Japan"! Limited time benefit (until September 23) contains a DVD of their
behind-the-scenes activities in Japan and a trading card.
FRIDAY:
#1- Despite their financial crisis, SM Entertainment keeps launching new projects and their latest one is said to be a "super boy group" with
SHINEE's Taemin, EXO's Kai and Baekhyun, NCT's Taeyong & Mark and WayV's Lucas & Ten! The company will release a statement on August 8.
#2- Weki Meki's comeback was announced for mid-august! The girl will release a repackage album and the MV for their title song has already
been filmed. KI-LINGs, it's time to get ready!
#3- We also learnt on Friday that the 9th GAON Chart Music Awards will be held on January 8, 2020 at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium.
Another music show to anticipate!
#4- EXO's Sehun and Chanyeol celebrated their first music show win for their sub-unit EXO-SC on Music Bank! Their song "What a life" was released
last week. Congratulations to them!
SATURDAY:
#1- The year is not even over but BTS has already grossed more than 100 million dollars in 2019 with their concerts! They are the 3rd act to reach
this milestone this year, after Ed Sheeran and Elton John. The group keeps asserting its international power!
#2 - Our second news of the day is also about BTS: their debut song "No More Dream" and J-Hope's "Daydream" both hit 100 million views
on Youtube. Congratulations to them!
#3- Saturday was a happy day for MeU: F(x)'s Krystal, Amber & Luna performed together for the first time in 4 years at SMTOWN LIVE in Tokyo!
Let's hope it is a good sign and the girls will make their real comeback in the future!
#4 - Another couple tied the knot this week: comedienne Kang Yoo Mi and her boyfriend (now husband) got married on Saturday! The private ceremony
was held by the Han River and gathered many celebrities. We wish them all the best for their new life together!
SUNDAY:
#1- Kangta, who was exposed earlier this week for cheating on his ex-girlfriend, posted an apology and decided to cancel the release of his new song,
initially scheduled for today. Let's see in the future if lessons have been learned...
#2- As for Daesung's building, we learnt that Seoul's police conducted search and seizure on some of the businesses operating there today.
They will use the evidence they found to continue their investigation.
#1- ITZY - ICY
Let's start with this week's arguably most anticipated release! After their debut with "Dalla Dalla" in February, the girls from JYP came back with
their second banger "ICY" on Monday. It is accompanied with a colourful music video filmed in Los Angeles and once more, the message
is clear: the girls don't care about what haters think and are here to slay!
#2- D1CE - WAKE UP
HappyFace's new group D1CE debuted on Thursday with their first mini album "Wake Up: Roll the World"! They chose "Wake Up" to serve as
the title track. A powerful chorus, pop and hip/hop sounds, solid vocals and a dark music video, the perfect recipe for a successful first song!
#3- TIFFANY YOUNG - MAGNETIC MOON
Former SNSD member Tiffany is back with "Magnetic Moon"! The pop/dance song, which aims at a more global market, was released on Friday and is entirely
in English. However, the music video is still full of Kpop influence, with its neat choreography and ethereal aesthetics. The song and concept were created
by Tiffany herself, and we can only advise you to check it out!
#4- VERIVERY - TAG TAG TAG
The seven members of Verivery, who debuted in January 2019, came back on Wednesday with "Tag Tag Tag", which promotes their first single album
"Veri Chill" - don't let yourself be fooled though, there is nothing chill about their concept! "Tag Tag Tag" is a refreshing new jack swing song and is perfect
to put you in a cheerful, energetic mood if needed!
#5- KANOE RANA - SEMI
After "Kanoe Rana Desu" in 2015, Japanese singer and musician Kanoe Rana is back with her second single "Semi", which will be released on August 7.
Its title track is already available and will be a delight for every fan of the pop-rock/indie genre and crystalline, enchanting voices. Kanoe Rana is truly
a talented artist to keep an eye on!
#6- Z-BOYS - HOLLA HOLLA
Are you searching for a new boy group's powerful song to add to your music library? Stop everything you are doing, Z-BOYS just released the perfect banger
for you! The seven boys, who debuted in February, came back on Monday with "Holla Holla" - and the song addictive chorus and instrumentals will make
you ask for more. You can give it a listen in the video below!
#7- EDEN (FEAT. HEIZE) - HEAVEN
It's already August but summer songs keep dropping almost every day, and the latest Kpop one was brought to us by Eden on Tuesday. The singer, songwriter
and producer teamed up with Heize to release "Heaven", and the song is everything you need to imagine yourself walking on the seaside, looking at the
waves with dreamy eyes and feeling the sand under your feet!
#8- BUSTERS - PINKY PROMISE
The five members of Busters, who debuted in 2017, came back on Wednesday with their first mini-album "Pinky Promise". Its title track is a "dreamy pop
song" with an upbeat tempo, refreshing vocals and a catchy chorus, and it allows the girl to mark a transition from purely cute concepts to more mature ones.
We advise you to give it a listen!
#9- CHUNGHA - THE END OF THIS
Each and every ICYMI article includes a ballad recommendation, and the one to be featured this week is Chungha's latest OST for the drama "Hotel Del Luna"!
Chungha proved a long time ago that she isn't only an impressive dancer but also a great singer - and if you still aren't convinced, it is time for you to listen
to "The End of This". Her charming voice sounds goes perfectly with the slow tempo of the song, making it sound almost like a lullaby. Check it out now!
#10- HIRAI DAI - BEAUTIFUL JOURNEY
Hirai Dai is known for bringing Hawaiian music's influence to his songs, and his latest one doesn't make exception to the rule! The Japanese singer-songwriter
is back with indie/folk song "Beautiful Journey", and you probably end up adding it to your summer playlist. If its cheerful, positive vibes don't bring a
smile to your face, I don't know what will!
