MARCH 23 - MARCH 29

Hello and welcome HallyuPlusers! We hope you had a nice week behind you and that you are now ready to recap with us all of this week's events in Asian Entertainment! Without further ado, we will leave you to this article!

News.png

BY POLARIS_TAE AND MIATHEIKONIC

MONDAY:
#1- TVXQ's Changmin will finally be having his solo debut! His first ever mini-album, 'Chocolate', will be dropping on the 6th of April, and we simply can't wait to see what he has in store for us!

#2- A number of artists signed contracts with new agencies this week! EXID's Solji
signed with C-JeS Entertainment, and Zuny of Ladies Code signed with Actorsaid Entertainment (where will be promoting as an actress under her birth name Kim Joomi). We look forward to their future endeavours!

#3- RBW's newest group will be making their comeback
on the 2nd of April with "3/4." If you're looking for a new band to listen to, and aren't sure where to start, why not give ONEWE a try!

#4- Word was going around earlier this week that Dilireba was to leave her company of five years -- but Jaywalk studio completely shut these rumours down, stating that Dilireba's contract is still active and that the two have a stable working relationship.

TUESDAY:
#1- Good news for fans of (G)-IDLE and SeeYa: (G)-IDLE will be making a comeback on the 6th of April with their third mini-album, 'I Trust', while SeeYa will be returning with their project album in April or May. Are you as excited about this news as we are?

#2- JTBC has confirmed an interesting line-up for the new "Knowing Brothers" episode, including Winner's Mino, Block B's P.O, 2AM's Jo Kwon and 2PM's Wooyoung! This is gonna be fun!

WEDNESDAY:
#1- It was revealed that EXID's LE parted ways with her agency, Banana Culture Entertainment, after terminating her contract. Former I.O.I member Zhou Jieqiong (Joo Kyulkyung), who recently starred in "Miss Truth", filed a request for contract termination against both her Korean and Chinese agencies (Pledis and XCSS Entertainment respectively). XCSS responded, stating that both they and Pledis have made large investments in the actress' career and will take legal action to ensure the contract remains in effect. Jieqiong later released a statement of her own on Weibo, stating her position on the legal proceedings. As of the time of this coverage (March 26), the two agencies have yet to respond to the actress' statement.

#2- Wednesday brought with it some pretty unnerving news for fans of the programme "Youth With You". Shen Bing, one of the "Wonder Four" quadruplets, was caught up in a scandal involving allegations of involvement in an extra marital affair. Her management confirmed the affair, but claims the idol was not aware of the man's marital status, and immediately broke it off once she found out. She has since withdrawn from the programme.

#3- Kim Dong Jun was reported to be joining the cast of the upcoming drama, "Chances of Going from Friends to Lovers", alongside Shin Ye Eun and Ong Seongwu. Meanwhile, SNSD's Yoona got a lead role in the drama "Hush", expected to premiere in the second half of the year. Ahn Sohee, similarly, got a
lead role in the drama "They Were There"! We're definitely going to be adding these to our to-watch list!

#4- Good news, Monbebes! After spending the last few months on hiatus,
Monsta X's Joohoney will be rejoining group schedules, in time for their rumoured comeback in the first half of this year. This was confirmed later in a week!

THURSDAY:
#1- James Corden will be hosting a special "Homefest" episode of his TV show tomorrow, and one of the guest stars is going to be BTS! BTS is also returning to Japan in a big way this April, as the singers for the OST of the Japanese drama "Rasen No Meikyū". Their Japanese album is also reportedly on its way!

#2- BEG fans, where you at?! Brown Eyed Girls member, Narsha, is joining the MC lineup of "Homederella", and we are beyond excited to see her again! And while we wait, UP10TION's Jinhyuk will be providing us with the entertainment we need, with a reported appearance on "All the Butlers"!

#3- We seem to be getting closer to the start of "Road to Kingdom", according to reports that the program will begin airing on April 30th!

FRIDAY:
#1- Twice has joined the TikTok craze with their new account, and have started posting on it! Hwasa, while not having shared any pics yet, has opened a personal Instagram account as of this Friday. In a similar vein, we had ex-AKB48 Shimazaki Haruka open a new YouTube channel, and Somi open a Facebook page. Looks like we'll have to go on a following spree!

#2- Sadly, but unsurprisingly,
KCON 2020 in New York has also been cancelled due to concerns regarding Coronavirus, as have Twice's Tokyo Dome concerts that were to be held on April 15th and 16th.

#3- A bit of good news from SM C&C: they will be launching a new idol variety training program, "Idol Soldier Camp", hosted by Lee Soo Geun and Lee Jin Ho, on April 3rd -- and the first guest is scheduled to be NCT Dream!

#4- Former member of Hello Project,
Fukuda Kanon, has joined ZOC unit under the name Kannagi Maro. What are your thoughts on and hopes for this project?

#5- More exciting news regarding Japan: HKT48 girls have announced their new single that is set to be released on April 22nd!

SATURDAY:
#1- Finally, fans of AKB48's Team TP (Taipei) can officially join their fanclub! Check out the membership offers if you're interested! And though you can't join any official Hyolyn fanclub yet, but she finally chose a fandom name for her devoted supporters this Saturday: 'Bae' -- a fitting name, don't you think?

#2- Sadly, it has come the time for Winner members to start their military service. Jinwoo, the deceptively cherubic eldest,
announced his enlistment date to be April 2nd. We will miss him!

#3- After receiving vital support and assistance from the world over during this trying time, China is now returning the favour, with
Yang Mi Ning Hao making donations to Japan and Spain.

#4- Visual idols become models:
(G)I-DLE has been chosen for a Lensme endorsement deal! A true blessing for our eyes!

#5- The viral pandemic, still running rampant globally, hasn't spare the music industry -- a CJ ENM PD and employee have tested positive, and in response, the company has decided to
temporarily shut down the office building. We hope the rest of the staff is safe, and that the two patients recover soon.

#6- Sadly, Saturday ended with the news of Gang Parade's
disbandment -- they are set to immediately cease their activities, and instead move forward split into two new groups. What do you think about this move?

SUNDAY:
#1- Sunday started off on a good note, with STU48 disclosing the release date of their 5th single, and NBM48, too, announced a new single. Aren't you excited for May already?

#2- Sadly, Sunday also brought some shocking and saddening news, as Nagasawa Nanako announced her graduation from Keyakizaka46, that is to take place by the end of this month. We wish her and the group all the luck in future endeavours.

#1- ONG SEONGWU - GRAVITY
Great news for WELOs! After dropping his first digital single in January, Ong Seongwu has finally released his first full mini-album, called "LAYERS". In it, he attempts to express his emotions regarding his experiences through this last year. The title track, "GRAVITY", starts off with a hint of mystique, but soon transitions into a more upbeat sound, with an addictive rhythm. It is a fantastic showcase of Ong's deep and emotional voice, perfectly executed high notes galore. The music video is also a display of another one of the idol's strong points: acting. Watching it, you're sure to feel drawn in by its k-drama-esque intensity!

#2- KANG DANIEL - 2U
After a long hiatus, Kang Daniel is finally back with his newest mini album, "CYAN". The title track, "2U", is a groovy and laid-back song -- perfect for a relaxed spring and summer! Daniel's smooth, yet colourful vocals seem to be even better than before, and we just love to listen to him! The MV, on the other hand, shows off his top-notch dancing skills with a cool choregraphy, maintaining lightness all the while, with his dorky, funny side!

#3- POLKADOT STINGRAY - JET
Polkadot Stingray is a band well known for its signature rock sound. While they're no strangers to experimenting with their sound, the distinguishing feature of their music is always the fusion of soft, mellow vocals and powerful, guitar-driven instrumentals. They have one again proven, with "Jet", that this pair of opposites exists in harmony. This song is one that you won't forget anytime soon!

#4- KISUM - PRIMERO
Are you looking for something to blast at home while doing your daily chores? Then "Primero" by rapper Kisum is the perfect fit for you! This song will instantly put you in a better mood, with its bright melody and catchy beat! The music video also reflects this peppy vibe -- a perfect package, guaranteed to distract you from the drudgery of daily life.

#5- WINNER - HOLD
Winner and Innercircles are getting ready, with mounting anticipation, for a new comeback in two weeks' time! As a little gift, they've dropped a pre-release single, "Hold" -- the perfect song to soften us right up! The music video shows the four members teasing their friend, AKMU's Suhyun, only for them to develop a crush on her. As cute as that is, the song itself truly sets the standard for cuteness -- being especially adorable and soft. This sugar dose can only do you good, so snack on ahead!

#6- STRAY KIDS - ON TRACK
Stray Kids is celebrating their 2nd anniversary with the digital single "On Track" -- a slower and more melody-focused song than their usual stuff, showcasing their vocals better than ever, but still maintaining their character with skillful rapping.
The concept and meaning of the song is reflected in its music video: friendship, relationships and the different emotions involved in them through different times in your life. The MV has an open ending, so we can't wait to listen and watch their next release to discover what the future holds!

#7- ONEUS - A SONG WRITTEN EASILY
Oneus is back to welcome the spring with their fans. To commemorate this beautiful season, they served us with their first single album "In Its Time", and its fronting single, "A Song Written Easily" -- a funny name for a song that is quite the masterpiece in its beautiful melodies and calming whistle sound (courtesy of Yonghoon from their brother group, Onewe). It is the perfect song to chill to during isolation, we highly recommend it!
