Hello HallyuPlus users, and welcome to our In Case You Missed It article! As always, we prepared you a lot of news and events from last week for you to recap, so without further ado, let's find out how the past week went by!

MONDAY:
#1- Dispatch reported that BTS' Jungkook, Astro's Cha Eunwoo, Seventeen's Mingyu & NCT's Jaehyun visited a number of establishments during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in Itaewon during April. The respective agencies later confirmed the report, with NCT's Jaehyun going a step further by releasing a handwritten apology for his actions.

#2- It was reported that PLEDIS Entertainment has announced its acquisition by Bighit Entertainment to the artists under its roster. How do you feel about a possible acquisition?

#3- YG Entertainment has released a statement regarding BLACKPINK's upcoming comeback, stating that the group has recorded more than ten tracks set to be included in the album and that a pre-released track will be dropping in June. The group has also announced that they'll be launching their very first YouTube reality program. Punch will be releasing her new digital single on the 27th of May. Meanwhile, Super Junior's best sub-unit, Super Junior-KRY will finally be releasing their very first Korean mini-album on the 8th of June! Are You excited yet?

#4- BlockB's U-Kwon enlisted for his mandatory military service this week as an active-duty soldier. We wish him a safe and healthy service and await his eventual return.

#5- Lee Hyori & Lee Sang-soon have both signed exclusive contracts with ESteem Entertainment. We look forward to their future activities!

#6- Exo's Zhang Yixing has dropped out of the long-running Chinese variety show, Go Fighting!, due to scheduling conflicts. Following this only, Wang Xun is now the only remaining member of the original season one cast. It's been revealed that Sunmi will be launching her very own talk show "SUNMINE" through SBS Special. We can't wait! The upcoming season of Seezn: Sing & Stay 2 has found its newest MC in Kim Jaehwan. Finally, Han Seungyeon has reportedly filmed for the KBS Variety "Dogs Are Excellent". We look forward to seeing them entertain us yet again!

#7- Moon Chaewon and Lee Junki are set to reunite in the upcoming TvN drama "Flower of Evil". We look forward to seeing their great performances!

#8- Momoiro Clover Z celebrated their 12th anniversary this week. We hope they continue for many years to come!



TUESDAY:
#1- Former Wanna One member, Lai Kuanlin, has filed an official lawsuit against his South Korean agency CUBE Entertainment to terminate his contract citing a loss of trust between the two parties. This lawsuit is separate from his request that was dismissed last year.

#2- SNH48 has suspended their initial plans to reopen public performances at their Xingmeng Theatre on the 23rd & 24th as previously announced. They will instead be holding 2 mini live shows and online stages plus hold an online handshake. Chen Jiayang of SNH48 NII (2nd Generation), who works as a nurse in Shanghai when not promoting, has been honoured by the Red Cross for over 900 hours of voluntary contribution during the COVID-19 pandemic. We sincerely thank her for her hard work!

#3- FAKY will be re-releasing their EP "Unwrapped as 5 in June. Lovelyz Kei will be featuring on 2AM Seulong's upcoming comeback single. Great news! Iz*One have announced that they'll be releasing their 3rd mini-album on the 15th of June! We can't wait!

#4- AOA's Hyejeong has been cast in the upcoming tvN drama "My Unfamiliar Family", whereas Im Nayoung will be joining the cast of "The Flower of Evil". We look forward to seeing their performances!

#5- Song Jaerim and T-ara's Jiyeon are reportedly in a relationship. Both of their agencies have stated that the pair are close and are currently checking with them in order to confirm or deny the rumours.

#6- Melon will be reorganising their current real-time charting system. Similar to its competitor Flo, it will count the number of unique listeners every 24 hours and update the chart every hour. This move is in an effort by Melon to try and help users find trending music, rather than promoting competition between songs.



WEDNESDAY:
#1- Victon are set to bless your eyes and ears again on the 2nd of June. Meanwhile, NCT Dream have announced that they'll be releasing both a photo-book and live album for 'The Dream Show' on the 9th of June. Are you looking forward to great music from them?

#2- Kwon Sohyun, formerly of 4minute, has signed an exclusive contract with Management Allum.

#3- Following Secret Number's Soodam's unfounded rumors of school violence, her company has confirmed that they will be taking legal action on the person spreading defamation about their artist

#4- YG entertainment has WINNER's Kang Seungyoon will be participating in the upcoming MBC drama, 'Kairos. April's Chaewon has been cast in the web drama '3인칭 연애시점' as the lead actress. Are you anticipating any of these shows?


#5- SNSD's Yoona will appear in the TvN reality show, On & Off. DSP & JTBC Studios have announced a star discovery reality show, "Burn Up: Billboard Challenge', with April, KARD & Heo Youngji as special MC's. Mnet have confirmed that Rain, Zico & Bang Sihyuk will appear as producers on their new idol program, 'I-LAND'! Are you excited yet?



THURSDAY:
#1- YG Entertainment shares plans for Bang Yedam’s pre-debut single in June and TREASURE’s debut in July! Get ready for the future plans that are in store for them!

#2- More comeback news was announced! Sunmi will make a comeback in late June or early July! Punch will release a digital single 'Say Yes' on May 27, and it will feature Mamamoo Moonbyul! Roy Kim will release a self-produced single on May 27 before enlisting into the ROK marines.

#3- UP10TION's Lee Jinhyuk, Lee Soomin, and Kwon Hyunbin (Viini) join cast of upcoming JTBC drama "Don’t Let Go of Your Mind" based on a popular webtoon! Don't miss it!

#4- On May 27th, there will be a hip hop concert called 'TikTok Stage With HipHopPlaya' live on air. Lineups include hip hop stars such as Crush, Dean, Heize, Bobby, Epik High and more, and is hosted by NS Yoon-G! You can watch it through TikTok so don't miss it!



FRIDAY:
#1- Exciting online concerts are announced! One Love Asia Concert for UNICEF lineup (May 27) includes stars such as AKB48, Super Junior's Siwon, Apink's Eunji, and CIX, with all proceeds going to UNICEF. Ateez will hold an online fanmeeting ‘CRESCENT’ through Naver V Live on May 30th at 5 pm (KST)! Tiktok is organizing an online concert 'Tiktok stage' with MCs Oh My Girl's Hyojung and iKON's Donghyuk on May 25. The lineup for the stage includes Apink, Akdong Musician, Monsta X, Kang Daniel, and KARD. Be sure to catch at least one concert if you can!

#2- The Japan Medical Association has established the "Momokuro Foundation" account to aid easy donations on COVID-19 treatment. Momokuro has collected fans donations through past live distribution and has contributed a total of 20 Million Yen. We thank them for their generosity.

#3- Ji Chang Wook, Kim Yoo Jung, Han Sunhwa, Do Sang Woo will guest on 'Running Man'! We look forward to them as guests in the episode!

#4- Red Velvet will release their photobook for 'La Rouge' concert on July 3rd! We look forward to it coming this way in the summer!

#5- AB6IX celebrated their first anniversary on Friday! We wish these boys many happy years!



SATURDAY:
#1- Idol group brand reputation ranking is released for May! Congrats to BTS, Oh My Girl, EXO, Blackpink, and Twice for ranking in the top 5 in that order!

#2- RINA from Scandal launches "Tiny Channel" VBlog! Her hobbies are writing, DIY projects, making clothes, antiques, photography, vintage media, so that is the sort of content we can expect!

#3- MBK Entertainment founder, Kim Kwang Soo, has been summoned By Prosecution for questioning regarding “Produce 101”. He is questioned as a suspect for vote manipulation.

#4- Momoiro Clover Z announced that they'll release digital live album with performances chosen by fans! Voting is open from May 22nd through 31st. The top 12 out of the 183 tracks will be added to a live best album, so be sure to vote if you want your voice heard!

#5- Rocket Girls announced that they will release a new song on May 25th as well as new album TBD! They have officially kicked off their 730-hour countdown to disbandment, so be mentally prepared.



SUNDAY:
#1- Two surprise singles were announced today, Hey! Say! Jump will release two new singles ("Last Mermaid..." and "Love Me PLZ") on July 1st while Woollim Entertainment stars will join their forces and make a company song scheduled for late May! Are you looking forward!

#2- Rapper B-Free was arrested for violent assault on Kingchi Mane.

#1- AGUST D - DAECHWITA
BTS had been posting mysterious teasers starting from "D-7" over the past week. Fans had plenty of theories about it, but no one even dreamed it was actually a countdown to Suga's, AKA, Agust D's new mixtape, "D-2". We waited for 3 years and now that his mixtape is finally here, it feels like discovering a treasure. Agust D took this chance and expressed his thoughts on the Korean music scene in his own style and with his ever so powerful rapping! So even if you don't bias him, you should check out "Daechwita". Who knows, you might even find your BTS bias here! ; )





#2- VICTORIA SONG - UP TO ME
After Victoria made her solo debut in 2018 with "Roof On Fire", we knew nothing was standing in between her and her bright future as a soloist. Now, two years later, with "Up To Me", she made everyone that doubted her shut up by breaking all kinds of records in China, as a queen should. "Up To Me" shows a softer side of her, putting her mellow vocals in the spotlight, and it did wonders to making this song a late spring hit we needed!





#3- TXT - CAN'T YOU SEE ME?
The dreamlike boys of TXT couldn't resist the charms of a darker concept either. After a row of bright sounding hits, TXT faces a harsh, cold wall of reality and struggles to accept that world isn't a beautiful, magical place with friends, but rather, feels empty and disastrous at times. Piano notes greatly accompanied the darker, almost eerie mood in creating a mysterious aura around the group. We enjoyed seeing this new side to the boys in "Can't You See Me?" and we are sure we can face every form of reality with those adorable boys!





#4- RYU SUJEONG - TIGER EYES
The charming, adorable girl we are used to seeing in Lovelyz releases is no more! Their lead vocalist, Ryu Sujeong, made her solo debut with "Tiger Eyes" and showed her inner charisma and confidence. She proved her vocal versatility making "Tiger Eyes" sound like more people than just herself sing it. She is off to a bright start as a soloist for sure, so support her desire and strong will by checking out this release!





#5- ONLYONEOF - ANGEL
We might be more used to OnlyOneOf's EDM releases, but we welcomed this fresh, breezy one just the same. The boys couldn't wait anymore for summer, so they delivered us one of the first summer hits this year, "angel". This song features just enough of the group's charms to resemble them but leaves us to discover more of OnlyOneOf's magic. Verses are hard-hitting, showing us the vocalists and rappers capacities while the chorus depends on the familiar, repetitive recipe we can't get enough of!





#6- MINZY - LOVELY
Four years ago, former 2NE1 member, Minzy, signed with Music Works and released her solo mini-album with the lead single "Ninano". Sadly, after all the hype and exposure that release got her, we waited far too long with no music from her. Now, only a month after leaving Music Works, we are blessed with "Lovely". Her warm, rich voice suited spring overflow and it made us instantly fall for her once more. And her looks? She is shining more than ever! Minzy bloomed with spring, and so did our love for her!





#7- EUNKWANG - DEAR MY DEAR
BTOB's leader and main vocal, Eunkwang, finally returned from his military service this April. He didn't waste any time and decided to greet his fans after a long time with a new album. The album title is yet to be announced, but its pre-release single is here, "Dear My Dear". It is an emotional and touching ballad guaranteed to touch the strings of your heart, but the meaning behind the song makes this release even more special. Eunkwang dedicated it to fans that have been waiting for a long time for his return. We are happy he is back and welcomed the soloist Eunkwang with open hands!

#1- TXT have broken their first-week album sale record with their latest album 'The Dream Chapter: ETERNITY' in just one day. It sold 125,228 copies on the first day of release!

#2- Victoria's debut solo album 'Victoria' sold over 250K copies within the first day of pre-sale! She is now the fastest Chinese female artist to reach diamond certification on QQ Music in 2020! It furthermore sold over 300K copies during the first week!

#3- NCT 127's 'Punch' debuted #5 on Melon and it is the unit's highest debut on Melon ever! Their album, 'Neo Zone: The Final Round', has their highest first-day sales with over 190K copies sold! They became a million-seller with the combined sales of 'Neo Zone' and 'Neo Zone: The Final Round'! In addition, they held an online concert "Beyond Live" and 104K people around the world attended it!

#4- Blackpink's 'Ddu-Du-Ddu-Du' dance practice video hits 300 million views! Have you had a chance to check out the dance practice video?

#5- Secret Number's debut music video, 'Who Dis' surpassed 1 million views in less than 12 hours! Be sure to check out the song!

#6- Twice's 'Fancy' MV reached 300 million views on Youtube! It is now the group's 7th MV to surpass this milestone!

#7- Red Velvet's 'Psycho' reached 100 million Spotify streams! It is their second song to reach this number! Don't forget to listen to this bop!

Bchip hosted "Scotland Yard", a murder mystery game where players were required to find the killer, the murder weapon, and why the killer did it, where soozie ultimately came out as the winner.
