#1- MONSTA X - LOVE KILLA
After May's Fantasia, MONSTA X has made their second comeback of the year with "Love Killa" from their full-length album FATAL LOVE. Compared to their previous release, the group takes on a more subdued and sexy sound for "Love Killa". The song has a very prominent dirty bass synth, which fits the overall mood of the track perfectly. From here the members carry the song with lyrics that carry a lot of personality, especially in JOOHONEY and I.M's verse. However, before we get into the lyrics, the pre-chorus utilizes the member's lighter vocal tones to create a sort of calm before the storm and we are dropped back into the dark bass during the chorus. The chorus, though a tad bit empty, is extremely catchy with the repetition of "아름다워 love killa, love killa." The lyrics are rather interesting as they talk about a toxic romance or fatal love (fitting of the album title), with standout lines being I.M's "I want you eat me like a main dish" and one shared by both rappers, "Imma slay, Imma chill, Imma kill." To tie the entire concept together, the group even references fictional characters in their music video, ranging from American Psycho's Patrick Batment to Silence of the Lambs' Hannibal Lector! The album maintains an overarching darker sound throughout its entirety; some personal favorites are "Night View", which is a softer house song, and "Guess Who", which contains an addictive and intense chorus.

#2- AB6IX - SALUTE
Following their July release, "The Answer", AB6IX is now back with Salute from their third mini-album of the same name. The group decides to take a complete 180 from their previous releases, trending into the darker and noisier territory. Salute takes a lot of elements from bands, or more specifically, the marching band sound; this includes the usage of drums, brass, and horns—these instruments give the song intensity and create a lot of energy as we progress through it. As for the verses, they continue with this intense sound until we hit the pre-chorus, which is vocal-heavy and much softer than the rest of the track. The chorus is, unfortunately, empty and pushes the drums and brass into center stage with the simple repetition of "salute". One interesting portion of the song is when lead vocalist Daehwi delivers a rap verse, which is rather enjoyable despite its unexpectedness. Overall, Salute is a great hype song, but its lack of a chorus can make it a bit of a polarizing listen. Salute is an amazing mini-album that highlights many of the group's strengths. One of the standout tracks, "Bloom", which is co-written by Daehwi, is very reminiscent of the deep house sound they debuted with, making it an extremely fun listen from beginning to end.

#3- MAMAMOO - AYA
MAMAMOO made their comeback with track AYA from their tenth mini-album titled "Travel". It's been only two weeks since the release of single Dingga and boy can these two tracks be any more different. AYA takes a major departure from the group's usual sound, shifting from vocal-heavy verses and choruses to something more relaxed. The track is an Arabia-inspired pop song that uses instrumentation associated with the sound; such as a nay and a guitar riff that resembles the stringed instruments that can found in the culture. The members' sultry vocals are layered on top of this to create exciting verses, However, the exciting verses lead to an empty chorus which is unusual for the group as catchy choruses have become a staple of their sound. Speaking of the chorus, the highlight of the song is definitely the nay melody that can be heard playing throughout it. The song is not done with its surprises as they bring in a dance breakdown which includes the Arabian instruments taking center stage. AYA gets better with every listen as one can explore and come appreciate the unique instrumental! The group does not stick to AYA's sound for the rest of the album but provides a great variety of genres. One standout song from the mini is Travel which is a laidback summery song with a slight retro sound, it's the perfect starter song to a great album!

#4- SECRET NUMBER - GOT THAT BOOM
SECRET NUMBER is the lastest group to embrace the 'teen crush' concept with their debut single Who 'Dis earlier this year. The five-member group debuted earlier this year on the 19th of May under the management of Vine Entertainment, with the single Who 'Dis which was the release where they first established their 'teen crush centered concept. The group has since returned this week following a six-month musical hiatus with Got That Boom. This release, just like Who 'Dis, is an EDM-dominated dance track that stays consistent with their previously established sound and has an addictive hook that somehow manages to outdo Who 'Dis! The song largely relies on an addictive bass beat, and adds a number of horns and synths to fill out the song, further increasing the song's likeability factor and making it an overall great release! The music video itself is the real star of the show, as we see the group continue their previously established concept while decking out in top-notch outfits and looking overall expensive, thus making Got That Boom another great release from SECRET NUMBER!

#5- TREASURE - MMM
In less than two months since the release of "I Love You", Rookie boy group Treasure has made their third comeback of the year with the single "MMM" from their single album THE FIRST STEP: CHAPTER THREE. With this new single, the group shows a new side of themselves, making a venture into YG's signature hip-hop oriented sound and leaving their boyish and vocal-oriented one behind. The instrumental for "MMM" is relatively empty with a simple bass going throughout it while the members either rap or sing over it. For this comeback, we are able to see the group's rap line in full action, as they use their different tones and styles to create fun and interesting verses. This release continues with the group's running theme of not having a proper chorus. However, they swap out the loud EDM drops for the repetition of the sound "mmmm", which makes this track appear to be more cohesive than their previous. The song's lyrics are rather suggestive, despite the group's young age, as they sing and rap about staying loyal to a girl and how she takes their breath away. On the same single album, there is a track titled "Orange", which is a gorgeous track that highlights the group's strong vocal line—if you are looking to balance out the rap heavy songs with something different you know where to look!

#6- SNH48 - YOUNG
SNH48 is back with their final track Young from their latest EP, "F.L.Y", which includes the participation of all 16 of the Top Girls from the group's latest general election. In all honesty, it seems like the groups' management company, Shiba, has used up all their budget for the group's most recent general elections based on the quality of this release, as it leaves much to be desired. The music video plays out much like an advertisement for shampoo and absolutely fails to give Sun Rui any significant screen time despite being the elected center in the group's previous general election. However, despite these criticisms, the song still remains to be an enjoyable track. We see the girls go about their daily lives in an attempt to achieve their goals and desires, while the instrumental for the track gives off an inspiring sound, paired with the girls' soothing vocals that tell us to strive for the future to the best of our ability.

#7- REOL - Q?
Japanese soloist Reol has released the full audio and a music video of her new single Q?; this comes months after the release of her full album Kinjitou in January. This single was initially supposed to be used in the 'Digimon Adventures' remake but was unfortunately put on hold due to COVID-19. Reol encapsulates the concept of the digital world exceptionally well in this new release while maintaining her usual electro-pop sound. This is done thanks to the usage of industrial samples throughout the song, creating an almost mechanic yet compelling instrumental. When this is paired with Reol's powerful and dynamic vocals, it creates a contrast and reflects the song's conflicted lyrics. The lyrics share the speaker's conflict with continuing to love someone despite them changing. Throughout the single, we are introduced to many unique sections, spanning from Reol's heartfelt and powerful vocals during the chorus to her sardonic rap in the second half of the song. This song is simply an amazing listen from beginning to end that will grip you with its diverse and intriguing sections and industrial sound usage.

Golden hosted a "Guess Who: Stranger Things Edition". In this game, players were split into two teams and were required to guess which character from Stranger Things that their teammate was. In the end, it was Team Bloodyhallyu consisting of Stannie, BChip, and Chomiczewska that took the top prize. Congrats!

Feitian hosted "Hanako's Exorcism Spyfall", a game in which players had to play a location-based guessing game to deduce whom the exorcist was. Ultimately, Chomiczewska took the top prize!

Bchip hosted "The Call Of Cthulhu" where users had to sacrifice a number of their sanity points (they begin with 1000) to close portals and fight to live another day! The player with the most points remaining would claim the prize. Stannie surprised us all by claiming the top prize!

AKID❀KI held "Tales From The Crypt"—an exciting writing game where users had to come up with scary stories in an effort to impress the judges. Ultimately, it was the Vindictive Vampires team consisting of Nara, BlueNose, Chomiczewska, and Chiharu that took the top prize!
