Hello everyone, and thank you for clicking on this new "In Case You Missed It" article! This week's edition is a little bit special,
as we are proud to announce that our new recruit Beefy is now entirely in charge of the "News" recap - you will also notice
the addition of a "Charts and Achievements" section, courtesy of our now senior member Meltrosz. We hope you will appreciate
their work and that you will find the article as helpful as usual!
MONDAY:
#1-We started the day with some good news from Big Hit: after enjoying their well-deserved break for a couple of weeks, BTS is back to business as the
boys are filming a reality show abroad. As for TXT, it was revealed that their comeback's MV had already been filmed. Anticipating!
#2- Another comeback is currently in the works: Brave Entertainment shared that Brave Girl would drop a new release soon! We are still waiting for
more details, but we are looking forward to seeing the group again!
#3- Did you enjoy Brand New Music's trainees Kim Sihun, Hong Seongjun, and Yun Junghwan's performances in Produce X101? If the answer is yes, you will
be glad to learn that the three of them will debut as a unit project group very soon. Good luck to them!
#4- After Baek Yerin, it was also time for Baek A Yeon to leave JYP Entertainment after the expiration of her contract in late August. The company
confirmed that she bid them farewell last week, on September 14. We wish all the best to her in her future endeavours.
#5- 2nd generation's stans, rejoice! Super Junior's Leeteuk, Shindong, Eunhyuk and Donghae went to Indonesia with TVXQ to film "AnalogTrip", which will
be broadcast on Youtube Premium very soon. A trailer is already available!
#6- The internet had much to offer on Monday as former Kara member Sungyeon opened her official Youtube channel. She has already started posting vlogs!
#7- The news didn't come as a shock to EXO-Ls: Kai became Gucci’s First Korean global ambassador! He will be advertising their fall/winter 2019 campaign.
A logical choice, since his fans have been nicknaming him "the Human Gucci" for a long while!
#8- A new week always means new troubles for YG Entertainment: it was revealed that, following the long investigations, the company will be hit with a 6
billion won tax bill... and will also have to refund the 67 billion won investment they had received from Louis Vuitton. Will YG survive the financial blow?
TUESDAY:
#1- Big Hit Entertainment quickly shut down BTS Jungkook’s dating rumors. The controversy began on Monday with the leakage of CCTV which included
the idol and an unknown woman. Thankfully, Big Hit will also be taking legal action against false information and those who leaked the original image.
#2- Legendary Korean rapper Jessi created a Youtube channel! And the news just keeps getting better. The first video she has posted on the account
is actually a teaser for her next comeback. We’re very excited about what Jessi will be delivering on her new channel!
WEDNESDAY:
#1- Suzy will be making her long-awaited comeback as a singer! She’ll be featured on R&B singer Babylon’s new single titled "행복해지고 싶어 (I Want To Be
Happy)". The song will be released on September 20th. We’re all very excited for her return and absolutely can not wait for the track!
#2- Following controversy, soloist and rapper Zico has announced his comeback, scheduled for September 30th. His last release was in July of last year
so it’s been quite a wait. Are you looking forward to it?
#3- If you weren’t already looking forward to October coming, well here’s another event to be excited about. Renown soloist Baek Ji Young is making a
comeback after 3 years will a mini album! We’re all anticipating!
#4- IU celebrated 11 years since her debut on Wednesday. Throughout these wonderful years, IU has become a staple soloist and veteran within the industry.
We wish her a happy anniversary and thank her for all the astonishing music!
#5- Dempagumi.inc’s Furukawa Mirin and mangaka Asou Shuichi (well know for his work Saiki Kusuo no Sai Nan) have announced their marriage!
The announcement was made on Wednesday during a Dempagumi.inc concert. In the statement, they both ask their fans to continue to support them.
We congratulate and wish them the best!
#6- Super Junior's Shindong is back to work! After taking a hiatus to take care of his health, the idol has started filling his schedule again - he participated in
a recording for JTBC2 'Today's Luck' and is preparing for Super Junior's comeback in October!
#7- Red Velvet’s Irene created a personal Instagram account! She has joined her fellow group members sans Wendy on the platform. We can’t wait
to see the content she will be posting!
THURSDAY:
#1- Famous soloist Rain and actress Kim Taehee welcomed the birth of their second child on Thursday! We congratulate the couple and hope the newborn is healthy!
#2- Trot singer Hong Jinyoung and Music K Entertainment’s legal battle is reportedly over! The two parties were, fortunately, able to settle without the issue
without a lawsuit. It was also announced that Jinyoung would be starting her own company. We wish her the best of luck with these future endeavors!
#3- NCT and SuperM’s Taeyong has been caught in a middle school bullying scandal. SM Entertainment immediately stepped forward and stated that no such
disciplinary actions related to the rumors had been recorded. Years ago, Taeyong had expressed regret over his past actions and has also apologized.
#4- Actress Goo Hye Sun updated her personal Instagram after radio silence for 2 weeks, following her recent retirement from acting and divorce scandal with
Ahn Jaehyun. Unfortunately, it appears the actress is or was in the hospital. The new post states that she plans on submitting her newest piece of writing
to the Art Fair Singapore. We can't help but be curious about it!
FRIDAY:
#1- LDH girl group Flower announced its official disbanded, following the announcement of member Mio Nakajima’s official withdrawal from the group
due to marriage and pregnancy. The group had originally debuted in 2011 with nine members but recently only promoted with five. Throughout their years of
activity, the group delivered amazing performances and music. We wish the best of luck to the group members' future activities! and congratulate Mio!
#2- October continues to be THE month for comebacks, as BTOB’s Hyunsik has also announced his upcoming solo comeback. We are very much anticipating!
#3- SMTM and School Rapper’s Chillin Homie has officially announced he has signed with a new company. The rapper will be leaving Genie Music and joining
VIXX Ravi’s company, GROOVL1N! We send our congratulations and look forward to what he’ll release in the future.
#4- Chinese boy group WayV officially announced its fandom name, WayZenNi. The new name is a combination of NCT’s official fandom name, NCTzen,
and the group’s name itself. WayV stans, do you like your official name?
#5- Have you ever wanted your favorite group and board game combined into one? Well, for Blinks it is now a reality, as it was announced that Monopoly
will have a BlackPink addition. Pre-orders will be opening on September 23rd. Fans and non-fans alike, will you be buying the game?
#6- Super Junior’s Donghae had to ask sasaengs to stop calling him. In the evening, he posted an Instagram story which displayed the ridiculous amount
of calls he receives from unknown numbers. Many other idols have experienced the same issue and it appears to be an unfortunate norm.
#7- Produce X 101 constant and model Park Yuri has received Korean citizenship! He made an Instagram post on September 19th with the positive news.
Yuri is originally from Russia and even carried out his military service there. We congratulate him on this major achievement!
SATURDAY:
#1- BlackPink confirmed their next comeback is in the works! Member Jennie was asked and gave the amazing hint away. Unfortunately, whether it was
a full or mini-album was not mentioned. We are very happy to hear the news and look forward to the potential release!
#3- Untouchable’s Sleepy shared that he has come to realize what TS Entertainment has been doing behind the scenes. The artist explained through an
Instagram post that TSE would never share his full bank statement and would force him to live in horrible conditions. The company is currently trying to
sue Sleepy for embezzlement when he is simply to gain back what was lost.
SUNDAY:
#1- Unfortunately, The Voice Korea's contestant and singer Woo Hye Mi has passed away. She promoted under the name MINWOO and had just recently
released her first EP this August 19th. The singer was known for her unique and powerful voice, and it will be missed dearly. We send our condolences
to those close to her, and may she rest in peace.
#2- Police have arrested the suspect accused of defaming NGT48’s Kato Minami. The idol had recently received slanderous messages through her SNS’
direct mail. The management posted this statement on NGT48’s official website; along with a warning that defamation against their idols will be
handled through criminal or civil proceedings.
#3- Former AKB48 member Itano Tomoi released a cover for her new album! The album’s title is “LOCA” and will be released on October 16th. We’re
looking forward to the release!
#4- Boy group Monsta X have become ambassadors for the Togetherband movement! In the tweet posted by Togetherband, they explained they support
Goal 16, which means the group is for Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions! We are very happy to see the group stand with such a strong message.
#5- As many have come to notice, ex-Pristin member Kyla opened a Youtube channel recently. Now she has posted her first video, and it was a
"Question & Answer"! She had the questions asked through the hashtag #TeaTimeWithKyla, and the answers ranged from light-hearted questions to serious
ones. She ultimately ended the video with the burning question, which is why Pristin disbanded. If you want to get all the full details, don't hesitate to
watch the video!
#1- SEVENTEEN / FEAR
Seventeen came back on Monday with their third album "An Ode" and its title track "Fear"! The group took the experimental route once more, as the song's
dark theme and style are strikingly different from their early releases. The music video is a visual spectacle and based on the performance of the album, we
cannot be more excited to see what the boys have planned next!
#2- DREAMCATCHER / DEJA VU
Did you enjoy "Breaking Out", the song released by Dreamcatcher last week? If the answer is yes, then we have good news for you: the girls didn't stop there
and came back on Wednesday with "Deja Vu"! As usual, the song relies on heavy instrumentals and the members' powerful vocals - a combination that
never betrays them, as "Deja Vu" has been topping iTunes charts' all around the world for days. It's time for you to give it a listen!
#3- SUPER JUNIOR / SOMEBODY NEW
The members of Super Junior have apparently decided to spoil their fans, and after the release of a cover last week, they unexpectedly dropped a "special"
track on Tuesday! "Somebody New" is not here to impress; it is an emotional song accompanied with simple footage filmed by the boys themselves, showing
their daily life and the rehearsals for their upcoming comeback. The whole thing is a breath of fresh air and we recommend you to check it out!
#4- GWSN / TOTAL ECLIPSE (BLACK OUT)
GWSN's fans also received a beautiful gift on Monday! The girls celebrated their first anniversary as a group in early September and, to celebrate properly, they
released a special video for "Total Eclipse" (Black Out)", a track from their latest EP "The Park In The Night Part Three". The video features behind-the-scenes
from various fansigns and concerts, and the members even added a heartfelt voice recording at the end of the song. Happy anniversary again, GWSN!
#5- LIMA CANTIK (HINATAZAKA46) / MAMA'S DRESS
Hinatazaka46's 3rd single is set to drop on October 2nd, but in preparation, a video for the unit Lima Cantik's "Mama's Dress" was released. The song is upbeat,
giving you a feeling of youth and freedom. The five girls shine brightly in the video as they dance cutely, both in a group and individually. "Mama's Dress"
will only be available in the Type C CD!
#6- RAIN X SOYOU / BEGINNING
Are you looking for a song that will give you warm and comforting feelings on this first day of autumn? Rain and Soyou just released the perfect one for you!
The two artists collaborated on "Beginning", which dropped on Monday - and the quality of the song will make you forget its real purpose, which is promoting
a famous brand of soda. Close your eyes and let Rain and Soyou's soothing vocals bless your ears!
#7- TEEN TEEN / IT'S ON YOU
Teen Teen, a new unit group created by Maroo Entertainment, debuted on Thursday with their first mini album "Very, On Top" and its title track "It's On You"!
Jinwoo, Taesung and Woojin, who participated in Produce X 101, are targeting all fans of bubbly and cute concepts with this first release, which is full of
promises and undoubtedly catchy enough to make you remember them in the future. Best of luck to the three of them!
#8- LABOUM / FIREWORK
LABOUM came back on Thursday with their first full album "Two of Us", and chose the beautiful mid-tempo song "Firework" to promote it! With a gorgeous
music video and stunning vocals, "Fireworks" is truly a treat for the season and did not disappoint fans and casual listeners. Kick back and find yourself lost in
the music as fireworks light up your soul!
#9- SATURDAY / BBYONG
Despite numerous lineup changes in less than a year, rookie group Saturday is still thriving and came back on Thursday with a third single album, "IKYK"! Its
catchy title track, "Bbyong", comes with a retro and colorful music video (will you catch its references to "Back To The Future"?) and a powerful choreography.
The song has a real potential to go viral in the future, and we hope Kpop fans will make it happen!
#10- KARD / DUMB LITTY
KARD is back and they're bringing the bass! In BM's first production, the members go hard in their new song "Dumb Litty." With a flavor more reminiscent
of "Bomb Bomb" rather than their earlier tracks, the song shows off their ability to turn up a party in only about 3 minutes. The video's standout is no doubt
Jiwoo, as she shows a very sexy side of herself. But all members are looking good, well, except for that strange headpiece at the end...
#1- In spite of the rise in the difficulty of achieving Perfect All-Kills this year, Bolbbalgan4 was still able to get one for "Workaholic", making it the 2nd PAK
of 2019! Bolbbalgan4 is truly a force to be reckoned with in digitals.
#2- SEVENTEEN made history when they broke their personal record for first-week sales in just three days with "An Ode"! We're very much looking forward
to their growth in their future releases.
#3 - AKB48's 56th single "Sustainable" recorded 1.3 million copies sold in Oricon, which is 12% higher than the sales for their previous single "Jiwaru Days"!
#4 - SEVENTEEN was able to reach a new milestone as they surpassed 700,000 copies for their first-week sales, joining the likes of EXO and BTS. The album
has also become the 6th highest album of all time for first-week sales!
#5- Dreamcatcher's latest album "Raid of Dream" topped several iTunes charts worldwide, hitting No. 1 in nine countries! We are truly proud of these
girls' achievements!
#6- GFriend's "Sunrise" is now their 7th song that has surpassed 1 million unique listeners on Genie and they did it in just 8 months! It really is one of our
favorite songs by the group!
#7 - TWICE made back-to-back achievements in Gaon this week with "Heart Shaker" becoming their 8th song to reach 100 million streams, and "Knock Knock"
becoming their 5th song to reach 2.5 million downloads!
#8 - Oh My Girl's cover of "Destiny" by Lovelyz is almost at 12,000 hearts in MelOn, making it the second Queendom song to do so after AOA's cover of
"Egotistic"! They were really able to make the song their own!
