Meaning it was created by white people, just like Portuguese and Italian? All three are languages from Southern Europe which contains countries where the vast majority of people are white :)

you kinda jumped in logic there...

"created by white people"? who do you think created it?
"Southern Europe contains countries where most people are white" -> this makes even lesser sense. Philippines is a country where most people are brown but the language comes from Malay, Chinese, America, Spain and even Japanese. What does language have anything to do with who's living in it?

And besides, since when did language have color?

I'm referring to the ethnic group where the language originated from. If English originated from English people, English could be considered a "white people's language" since it originated from white people. The same could be said for Spanish

Is this a new form of trolling? I mean is it supposed to trigger some reaction? I'm confused about the intention of this kinda question.

Anyway, just wikipedia (or whatever) it and have your own conclusion I guess. Here the link:

Language is way more complex than this... A language is not defined by one element, but by a group of cultural, social, historical and individual characteristics... If you want a real answer and not some kind of weak trolling, linguistics see "the Spanish" as different types of Spanish (there's Castillian, Andalusian, Canarian, Latin American Spanish - that also has its differences -, Equatoguinean Spanish...) and that logic is applied to every language out there. Spanish is spoken by a multiplicity of people, regardless of race, religion or whatever.

Do you think Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French and whatever were created by a bunch of white people getting together over supper...? They're Latin derived languages... And each Spanish has heavy influences from the countries its spoken...

I get not feeding the troll but hey, studying is fun!

Yes Latin American spanish exists but only because it was introduced there by Spanish speakers. Spanish originated from a group of people before it was spread around the globe. All languages originate from somewhere and European Spanish (the first kind) originated from white people. I mean weren’t Latins white? Lol

This isn't the 13th or the 14th century, everything evolves inclunding languages, knowledge and lil brains... But I just know somewhere in his grave Saussure just tried to take a deep breath and thanked the skies for not being able to do so...

Well if you allow me to be more toilet level philosophical, I guess Spanish is part of Romance language which is derived from Vulgar Latin which is from Latin which comes from Greek which comes from Phoenician which is Middle-Eastern, so maybe Spanish is middle-eastern using this logic? I know, I'm digging deep.

Still considering if we just go for what modern people will understand as early established Spanish, like most languages they are a mix of various other influences. One big influence in Spanish is Arabic which is understandable as it was a scientific language at the time Spanish was developing and Caliphate had a big presence at Iberian peninsula, so at very least if you just attribute origin of a language to determine it's "color", I guess you need to add Arabic to the mix.

Dunno exactly how formal Spanish is taken care. With French, there is an institute that takes care of maintaining the uniformity of the language. I think we don't see the same with Spanish. At least with Portuguese (which I know), it seems separated and therefore, you see more of a drift between Portugal and Brazil even at formal level (maybe they have a new institute for that, but I don't think it existed when I learnt it).

In this case, wouldn't mean that language is beyond any limit of "color" at this point even if we accept the concept of the color of people for its origin? Overtime language will drift more and more if no formal entity tries to keep it together like French.

This is really cool to think about and something Linguistics researches a lot rn
There has been a lot of attempts into making written PT-PT and PT-BR more similar, and I believe Spain has an institution that regulates their language in the country (which is v interesting because of how many influences Spanish suffers nowadays inside of Spain itself)

Although the question was kinda stupid. No offense to TC, it has at child like quality to it which is good.

Language is a very fascinating topic and we usually don't think much about it. I'm no language major (I taught Portuguese a couple semester thou), but I like history and geopolitics which language is a big part.
