With the booking of some CJ ENM execs, it is possible that the worst could happen to IZone and X1.

Namely, CJ/MNet will just do nothing for these groups, using the investigation as an excuse to 'suspend activities'.

CJ is a big, nasty company which cannot be easily crossed with. Its annual revenue is about $14 billion, and the entertainment division, while important, is not going to kill the conglomerate.

Although Wanna One earned $80 million, which is no chump change, as a whole it barely made a dent on the group's picture.

IZOne and X1 were parts of a greater plane, namely integrating CJ's food, cosmetic and entertainment businesses as one, but the plan might have to be reconsidered. Now, with the people related to the Produce series booked or in investigation, there is no one to approve the groups' activities since no one wants to be responsible for any mishaps which might occur in their activities now every single move of these groups is going to be under heavy scrutiny.

Plus, if they disband, there are quite a lot of interests which have to be made whole, creating a nightmare.

X1 might be easier to disband since it is said some of the members did not sign the contract.

IZone is difficult, because Japan is involved.

It might be better, for the MNet execs, to just run out the clock and do nothing so IZOne would do zero activities until it quietly disbands early in 2021. It might be possible that Sakura and Nako will return to HKT48 earlier, but the 9 Koreans and Honda Hitomi (who was not that important in Japan) would just rot for 1 1/2 years with a stained reputation.

Companies are quite brutal, especially huge companies. For them, the fate of the members of IZone and X1 is not even a concern ; they are contract employees, which could be released any time if they are not useful.

WizOnes want the group not to disband, and I do find their opinion has some merit, but it is more likely for CJ to do nothing, say nothing and just let the IZOne contract to lapse.

CJ is bigger than KakaoM (Loen is now part of it). KakaoM also owns Starship, which is a CJ business partner, and KakaoM's chief exec used to be an MNet person, which might be why KakaoM's most prominent singer is allowed to act in CJ-owned TVN dramas.
CJ is Loen's music distribution competitor, Just saying
