In award ceremonies such as MAMA, the custom is that an older person presents award to a younger person. I think that is an Asian custom.
So, in MAMA , Melon Awards and other Kpop awards, actors who normally have nothing to do with KPop are invited en masse to say a couple scripted sentences, and present the awards to the singer.
However, because of all the mess surrounding MNet now, they say this year's MAMA, to be held at Nagoya, Japan, will not be able to bring all the famous actors and actresses. Instead, the strange situation of an older singer presenting an award to a younger singer might occur instead.
I don't know whether that was good or not, but to the best of my memory there is one instance of an older singer receiving an award from a YOUNGER singer.
On April 2014, the infamous Sewol ferry accident, which completely screwed up KPop in 2014, occurred.
This award, called the PD awards which is an award ceremony given by Korea's tv program directors (not very important outside of Korea, but if the singer crosses the directors, the singer won't pare well in TVs later), was not televised because the entire mood was mourning.
They were not able to get presenters, so a certain younger singer, who debuted 4 years before Exo but was generally younger than it, presented the Singer the Producers selected award to Suho of Exo.
Suho of Exo was born on May 22, 1991, and almost 2 years younger than the presenter, who was born on May 16, 1993, so he became the first singer in the KPop era whose award was presented by a YOUNGER person, who at that time was not KPop's Senior Singer yet (she only became a Senior Singer after the MAMA on Dec 3, 2014).

My point is, there is no problem for an older singer to receive an award presented by a younger singer since there is a good precedent.

It was a marine accident but it was presented as a national tragedy. And it did depress Kpop for the entire year.

It led to a decline of Kpop which was not stopped by Big Bang on 2015. Only the rise of BTS stopped the end of KPop; otherwise we would not even have this site since Kpop would not be relevant anymore.
