This decade only has about 40 odd days remaining, so it is time to assess the singer of this decade by year.

2010 - SNSD
2011 - SNSD
2012 - Psy
2013 - Cho Yongpil (I hate to admit it, but he did overshadow others and he had contributed to Kpop in the 1980s. He also released a Japanese version of his hit Hello, featuring 2PM's Taekyeon.
)
2014 - Exo
2015 - Big Bang /Exo (they equally qualified)
2016 - Twice
2018 - BTS
2019 - BTS.

2017 is omitted, because only KPop singers qualify and the top singer for that year was not a KPop figure.

Ynok i was wondering about this
I thought certain singer didn't use english on her lyrics, and she only used K-O-R-E-A-N but her mos recent title track Blueming has a lot of english in it

Everything just clicked on one year, 2017. Exo was , well, not what it was and BTS was rising. So they met at a crossroad. Because of that accident of history, for probably the last time in the KPop era, a nonKPop figure had become the top singer of 2017.

Don't be petty and put 2017 artist of the year :doge:

BBiBBi was her attempt to integrate herself into the modern age by mimicking Cardi B. It is also her only internationally relevant song.

Omg i think you are onto something
do you think GD influenced her into putting english words in the song?
what about BBIBBI?

Ynok I always hated you reading your posts before, then I wondered whether you're IU stan or hater, then I think I cannot put you in either category, may be just someone obsessed with her?

Still, I'd like to ask your opinion, do you think she'll now fade away from the music scene?

Psy definitely helped understand K-Pop and appreciate it.
2012 was when I first knew about Korean music.

Good to see he is is on there as a contributor!
