As it's NaNo month, it's only appropriate that the Event Team hosts a writing contest.

Requirement.
Word Count: Minimum: 500
Maximum : 2000

Rules.
Can it be a previous piece of work?: Yes however it must be solely your own work. Collaboration work is not accepted
Can you work in a group/Pair?: No
Can it be a Fanfiction?: Yes
Can it be a letter/Poem?: No
Can it contain Smut?: Yes
Can it be in a language other than English?: No, all submissions must be in English
Can I submit more than one entry?: No, you are only allowed one entry
No Plagiarism.

Topics.
1. Forbidden Love
Summary: A story about a love that isn't acceptable due to various reasons, e.g family, wealth, age, race, sexual orientation etc. Think Romeo and Juliet, Lady Guinevere and Lancelot.

2. War in Space
Summary: A story that takes place in space and has a war element, this can be a battle scene or war preparation or the effect of war or just cool alien galactic brawls. Think Humanity is at stake and this is its last stand.

3. Sports: Do or Die
Summary: A story with a sport element, the sport can be anything from cheerleading to formula one but there has to be tension, a prize at stake. Think the final of the World Cup or the Olympics

Judging
Criteria:
You will be given a score out of 30 for each of the following criteria
Story Flow : Does the story flow naturally, are the scene transition's smooth? Does it make sense? Does it have a stable structure?
Topic: How well does it fit the given topic?
Creativity: Is it imaginative? Is it fun to read? Is it exciting? Does it have its own style and tone? Are the characters memorable?

You will be given a score out of the 10
Spelling / Grammar : I know not everyone speaks English as a first language which is why the points for this section are low. I will take spelling and grammar into consideration but not heavily.

JUDGES
I am the sole judge.
Having multiple judges has a lot of benefits however as this is a writing contest, I feel the best way to keep judging consistent is to have only one judge.

Orbs: TBD but top 3 will all receive orbs.

1st: 40
2nd: 30
3rd: 20
Participation points: 10
Coins:
1st: 60k
2nd: 50k
3rd: 40k
Participants: 30k

You won't get downgraded for not including something unless it's the actual topic, the only topic that needs a love story is topic 1, the rest do not
