I love the "aesthetic" of this video!!!!! I know it's nothing new but I like the dark vibe
The song is ok. NCT Dream has better title tracks but it isn't a bad song, it's grower and the chorus is catchy.
They are experimenting which is good. Honestly, I'm a fan of their bright songs but I'm surprised that I liked the chorus (since it's empty+antidrop)
.
My favorite part is the pre-chorus (SM is a genius for pre-choruses). The vocals were superb but the song is too rap-focused, which I hope doesn't happen again because NCT 127 already has that.
The part I didn't like was the rap in general. I still believe Mark is the only rapper; Jeno, Jaemin, and Jisung are not rappers, they are singers with low voices which I'm glad they used. The B-sides are proof they don't need to rap all the time and that they don't need the noisy chant choruses.

I didn’t really care for this title unfortunately it felt kinda stagnant
HOWEVER the album is very good, thank you to Dream for providing us with a sinister banger (Box) and whatever tf Carrot Cake has going on (positive)

LurkerI'm also really surprised of liking it enough, especially the chorus. But the shouted rap parts aren't it... I think Jaemin is actually a decent rapper (he always sounds great when he covers Mark's raps, his flow can be hit or miss but overall his voice is good for rapping). I'm not a fan of Jeno and Jisung's raps though, I prefer them singing/talking in low tones (like in the chorus, they both did great).I love the "aesthetic" of this video!!!!! For a darker concept, I think I would have preferred them to make Box the title track but I feel like they're trying to catch 127's fans, since members are enlisting. This is a song 127 could have released. It's a bit dangerous, most Dream fans dislike this type of experimental sound. But there's a good chance they'll promote Unknown too, so it'll make up for it. And the album is otherwise flawless.

Agree, those angry raps need to end. I still don't understand why, after Broken Melodies reception, SM still decided to do this...Dream needs more vocal-focused songs as title tracks like in the past.I'm also really surprised of liking it enough, especially the chorus. If the plan is to catch chilzens, this won't work: chilzens hate Dream and dreamzens hate 127. If anyhting, I see chilzens supporting other groups to compete against Dream.

LurkerSM is hard to understand, they're so sure that their experimental sound is the right trend, just because everyone else in the industry has picked up on it even though it's often received poorly. I want to get rid of shouted raps AND chanting/talking choruses. It's really hard to pull off and Kpop fails at it more often than not (Smoothie's chorus works at least, thank god).Box is my fav too!

I think most 127 casual fans aren't like that, especially in the West. Those are the ones SM's trying to catch and given reactions, I actually think it's working. Box was soooo the right title track for that though. It's also my fave

I just hope it's a one-time thing and they'll come back again this year with something more melodic. I think they're going for a Trilogy album.
