At the Korean National Assembly a bill was proposed called the New Jeans Act/Hanni Act

The act is proposed to protect artists and third party workers from workplace harassment.

Here is a statement from the Article Source:
Regardless of whether the income is high or low, or whether the relationship is employment or contractual, no one who works should be bullied by their superiors or others at work. Not only Hanni of New Jeans, but many people who are still working are not protected by this law. This is because the current law only prohibits workplace bullying in the relationship between employers and employees

They also shared this other story of people who would be protected by this law:
An apartment security guard was insulted by a resident, saying, 'Bark like a dog,' and another security guard even took his own life due to assault and harassment by a resident. However, the law prohibiting workplace bullying is useless in such special relationships."

The bill will create special provisions for labor providers and artists, establishes obligations for employers to take action in the event of harassment by third parties, and establishes penalties for employers who fail to take appropriate action against perpetrators of workplace harassment and harassment by third parties.

If it makes sense: I feel happy that workers will get better rights, but I feel a bit sad that it wasn’t until a really famous person got ignored in a hallway that the government cared enough to do anything.

Like, I’m happy people’s lives will get better, but I’m sad it’s only being done for “brownie points”.

Girl, safe workers are safe workers :modcheck:
I'm trying to see the downside, but I'm so glad it hinged on a case that didn't have sensitive and intimate details for someone to have to put on the floor.

If confirmed, it's a good thing. Idols not having the same protection, the same "value" as any other worker is something crazy.

An idol union, imagine
