The length of the contract is 5 years (60 months). From the time they start selling their debut album, for 2.5 years (30 months), they have to promote only as a member of the group. After the 2.5 years (30 months), they will get to promote as the group member combined with 'Byung''s individual activities. However, "Byung" may not do the 2 in parallel, but only as a member of the group as in the time frame instructed by "Gab":

2022/8~2013/1 (6 months)

2023/8~2024/1 (6 months)

2024/5~2024/8 (4 months)

T/N: basically, in Korean contracts, the people in the contract are labelled as "Byung" and "Gab". The usual order is Gab > Eul > Byung > Jung, etc. So in this case, Gab is probably the company and Byung is the member, Gab being of a higher seniority as Byung.

"A-goon who is a participant of Produce X said "since we are not "Eul" but "Byung", we have to bend ourselves even more and have to do better. I wonder what will happen if we get on their bad side so we have to be careful."

"The distribution of the contents' revenue was also disadvantageous to the companies. Regardless of whether the song was a hit or not, only 1 million won (~800$ USD) was received by the companies while additional profits all went to CJ ENM. Seeing the unfair terms, some companies have requested their trainees to be taken off the program on the last minute."

At this point, we can almost say that Choi Byungchan escaped? Isn't his company f*cking smart?

2. [+338, -14]

If you're an Oneit, we have to get together and oppose to this... just how much are the kids paid? They don't even take care of the kids and they are receiving all the hate because of the rigged image... and they are not even getting properly paid..

3. [+259, -3]

Isn't this almost a slave contract...?

4. [+126, -1]

This should almost make the fans go out to protest against this ㅋㅋㅋㅋ They were saying how the kids would be able to have side promotions for 2.5 years but if you look closer, they can only have side promotions for 1 yearㅋㅋㅋㅋ the kids who have a place to go back are all getting their ways blocked but are you really ok with this?... this is totally a slave contract and it's also toxic for the kids. They have no time to go back to their agencies and make a place for themselves. No but, this almost looks like X1 will end their career as an idol... do you want them to have the "rigged-dol" tag for the next 5 years? To be honest, they are not even get paid properly, can't appear properly on public TV, can't shoot any CFs... I think that next year, they will already get swarmed with overseas tours. Isn't the future obvious? It's guaranteed that their schedule will be packed with tours overseas... Kids... Anyways, everything was fake so let's push for the disbandment. Honestly speaking, this is not a normal group ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

5. [+118, -1]

This is so toxic for the underage kids, they are supposed to be at their brightest timesㅋㅋ Dohyun-ah, you are still so young right now so you will still be young in 5 years. But for the '02 kids, they are young now, but in 5 years, they'll be 23 y.o. It's not like they can get a new start that easily and they are in an ambiguous situation;; Meanwhile, they will have used up all their image, so who would even make a new group with them after 5 years? You really have to see X1 as their last promotionsㅋㅋㅋ Aren't they being too f*cking ruthless? They can't even promote with the kids of their companies, will get fully jammed with overseas tours for the next 5 year and then, their idol life will be overㅋㅋㅋㅋ Think about this seriously. Is this right?

Have you guys seen Seungwoo limping today? Oneits, do you want your brats to be not taken care of and not getting paid? Please get in your right minds

$800 just doesn't seem realistic. Wouldn't this have also applied to W1? Yet pretty much all W1 members end up getting loaded due to the group's immense success

CF... W1 had tons and tons of CF contracts and it's what brings money. But anyway the contract for W1 was a bit different. I think it was 50% for CJ 25% for Swing (Swing = CJ so 75% for CJ) and 25% for members company (9 agencies so 25% divided by 9) and after that for the members it depends on their contract with their agency. But Daniel, Jisung, Daehwi and Woojin were the ones getting paid the less because they were 2 members per agency. Jaehwan was the one getting paid the most because he had no agency so he take the 25%/9 part for himself.
In the end of the day most of them didn't really earned money with albums sales (like most idols, albums sales don't bring money because agencies take the most part of it). It's all the CF that made them "rich" but for their popularity they were actually not rich. Daniel is probably the one who earned the most at the end because he was the only one with solo cf and he had a lot of them (+ he was the most expensive model for 2018).

Maybe it's different in SK, but why wasn't this all negotiated prior to even filming? I mean the idea that companies were attempting to pull their trainees at the last moment indicates a severe lack of coordination and communication regarding the production teams of MNet and also the individual companies themselves.

As a freelance artist, no work gets done UNLESS a contract is signed. That's plain and simple. Again, maybe SK is different.

It supposedly was CJ 25, swing 25, agencies 50% of the profit. They said w1 net income also was close to 39 million over their time together. Each member at least 880,000 each if they have 50:50 split with their agency. Of course taxes take out a lot, trainee debt, etc.

Keep stanning produce groups people, I said many times about how CJ is exploiting the oversaturated ecosystem to get an iron grip over the industry, but people just dont care.

Produce needs to end, and someone needs to put a leash on CJ E&M. They are almost single-handedly destroying the kpop scene (almost, since YG is helping).
