🦋 Karma Butterfly 🦋So, last night I attended ITZY's concert in Newark, NJ for their Born to Be world tour.

...and the best part may have been when Chaeryeong was giving her closing remarks and made a point of saying that when they tour this area again, they intend to include Lia
Hope lives on. Best wishes to Lia's health and continued recovery.

This was a birthday present to myself this year, and it was a lovely bit of fun ^^
It was a full-packed venue. They used a live band which helped it feel more organic, and they leaned into that with several remixes. They also had a portion that let the back-up dancers take the spotlight in a choreographed performance of their own, which I thought was a really nice touch.
The crowd went crazy for "Cake" which surprised me, because that's definitely a track that I normally skip lol. But they redeemed themselves by joining me in going just as wild for "Sneakers" which felt both validating and equally surprising due to the shade this track often receives (for me it's been a consistent top 3 title track of theirs tbh)... (Thanks for the surprises, Newark!)
Also, my favorite duo whipped out the cartwheels for Sneakers!
The solo stages were cool. Chaeryeong's was my favorite with her clever use of several mirror props, echoing her MV theme.
I just want to highlight Ryujin for a moment- she appeared to be very intentional with giving her focus to the off-side seats that could easily become neglected, which I appreciated. It was also fun to see my section do a sort of wolf chant ("ah-ooh") a few times she took the spotlight, which she seemed to eat up and laugh off
(Also, Ryujin's English is improving significantly, and was the only member who did not rely on a translator for personal remarks. She seems to have taken the lead in English during Lia's absence)
