Up until about a month ago, I'd managed to avoid the true cesspit side of Twitter, but for some reason I got sucked into a grim side that is connected to Kpop. Just the worst type of bullying, bigotry, racism, gore posts, porn and a ton of incomprehensible rubbish. I must have reported hundreds of posts, all linked to Kpop "fans". There are some pretty unhinged people out there. I've only ever really used Twitter to enjoy fansites for photos of groups, not have to see the horrendous violent statements of the most ugly fans I would gladly never want to meet. So depressing.
Then I thought, why am I even getting involved in this backstreet brawling mob of crazy people? So, I've left Twitter. Logged off and removed it from my bookmark toolbar. I'm not going to miss it much. At least Instagram seems like a safe place to look at Kpop pictures.

I just follow a very select group of fansites and nothing else for these very reasons. But yeah Twitter can be utter negative trash, good for you.

"Cesspit" is the right term for parts of Twitter. Life is too short to be spent sifting through garbage like that.
I only check on (but don't subscribe or follow) a few drama-free Kpop fan accounts on Twitter.

this is the best way to be on twt, and some friends i talked to before that i know wont be like what op mentioned.
tbh i prefer a dry TL then a tl full of bigotry and pettiness and negativity in general
