Also this might be a controversial opinion but I think they need to pull an AKB on the 46-groups and only allow 1 or 2 of them at most.

4 48/46 groups is too much.

They deserve it , the three groups are selling more than 500,000 per single, nogizaka and keyakizaka are reaching the 1,000,000 in sales constantly. The three groups have a huge popularity in japan between teenagers and female fans. Hinatazaka in its debut year has broken many records in sales. They deserve their place in the kohaku uta gassen.

There's no denying that they're popular, but 4 AKB-esque groups is too much. Otherwise we might as well put SKE, NMB, STU and HKT there too.
I'd rather see them do something like with AKB, where several groups get to share on performance. So, idk, put AKB and Nogi in one performance and Keyaki and Hinata in one. It will also be more interesting, as we'll see group interactions + the program won't be dominated by Johnny's and Aki-P.

its the 70th and i hope to get to see more interesting special segment (for sure a heisei medley), i was kinda hoping that this year would include less idols and more artists (80's/90's)
cross my fingers to get to see nakajima miyuki just because shes gonna release new album next year
