French and Portuguese elites forced into self-isolation. Ted Cruz doing the same. Possibly more American congressman and the top echelon being infected as they were campaigning, going to events, and so on. I wanna see this as karma, but such a shake up in power is also can be volatile.

All this crap happening because the West is being too political about it. I don't remember H1N1 being this bad and they called that a pandemic without that politicization and polarization. It wasn't perfect, but it was good enough. Maybe the economic meltdown at the time "helped" a bit and supply lines weren't as integrated like today's, so controlling people's movement were easier.

Looking at Italy and USA death ratio (yeah considering all the factors like where the outbreak was and demographics), they are still nowhere to find the real number yet. USA at this point may be higher than Italy at 9K if we do some rough projection. American media will just make things worse when reality sets in. We are still in denial stages.

When you need Italian government to lead the charge, we know we are in the shit. At least it seems some European countries like Austria and Czechia are waking up and banning gatherings.

Meanwhile Spain is still partying hard. France seems paralyzed. German is lacking decisiveness. Still they are better off than Americans. USA response is a joke. If they are doing this because of economy, they will destroy the very thing they are trying to protect.

I could see a disastrous situation in Brazil and Argentina.

I like so far how is my country dealing with it, and Romania and Czech are doing fine too, and those are countries with under 50 cases, they closed schools and are banning public gatherings. Italy tho, they were too late, can't believe it took them 1k cases daily to close schools and ban travelling, but still so many deaths there... France has a chance to become the next outbreak country, they are now on almost 2k and did nothing so far. People there come from Italy peacefully without getting checked, kids go to school after Italy holidays normally, no school is closed down, they don't even check people with symptoms, they check you when you get serious symptoms and when you are basically confirmed case. Maybe they will do something now that high politicians are infected too

Over here we have 40 cases and all universities have been shut down and shcools with infected students also got shut down and all students out in isolation. However these cases have all come from people who went to Italy and came back and went along their ordinary livre which i dont think is right. I think anyone who was coming from Italy sjouldve been out in isolation but its what it is.

It is a good thing to shut down schools and unis, even if it's late as travelling from and to Italy should have been banned long ago. I hope this measures really help handling the virus.
Did they ban flights and all from Italy tho? I know Italy is now quarantined as whole, but I also know Italians came here just today even with ban existing

I'm in UK, schools still open, uni lectures are being cancelled but they're not closed.

Remember SK. Before that cultists ignored the guidelines and created two clusters, SK was under 50 cases. That person alone was responsible for 80%+ of the total tally.

Lot of stupid people around Western area even tested positive are acting like this person and they don't have the excuse they were under cultist spell to justify their reckless behavior. They are creating clusters not only in their origin countries but also other countries.

Also, if you live in a country where cases are exploding, "armor up" with everything you can. There are some misinformation about masks. Even specialists are spreading it. Use masks. Makeshift ones is fine as well. Even if viruses can be only be stopped effectively with at least N95, they need a medium to travel to your lungs. Any barrier is better than no barrier. I rather trust Asian specialists for this one.
