IZ*ONE simply more known, sell much more and time is flying for them, so they better earn as much as possible with IZONE.

But fromis_9 can't afford to comeback only once per year...

It's actually quite complicated...
1. fromis_9 got hit by Mnet rigging controversy. Not as hard as IZ*ONE but investigation is still ongoing and there's a high chance of second investigation. OTR did pretty good job on damage control but it's still unfortunate.
2. Covid-19. fromis_9 Japanese pre-debut project got cancelled because fanmeetings is a major way to promote in Japan.
3. Big Hit buying majority of Pledis. CJ have a contract with Pledis to produce albums for fromis_9. We don't know the details of the contract so we don't know who is responsible for fromis_9 comeback schedule. Earlier this year there were rumors that fromis will be fully transferred to Pledis but they were denied (i think Big Hit wanted to grab every artist they can get). Anyway we don't know what's going on inside Pledis right now and when album is coming.
In summary, just a really unfortunate series of events. I hope it will be over soon. My prediction is first teaser on June 29.
