Taekwondo

8th Annual All Kansai Open, November 2016

Yoshi was regionally competitive in primary and middle school. Yoshi studied taekwondo for 9 years from 2nd grade to 10th grade. He was part of the taekwondo club/team in secondary school. In March 2016, at the end of middle school he auditioned for YG so his focus changed. Based on photos, Yoshi was a 1st Dan his first year of high school. There are multiple posts by his dojo originating back to 2012 which allude to Yoshi's love affair with the microphone.

Same post in Japanese. Note that the Kanji spells out 金芳典 (Kimu/Kin/Kana/Kane Y o s h i n o r i) and not 金本芳典 (K a n e m o t o Y o s h i n o r i). This is not a typo. Yoshi's dojo also constantly referred to him as 金芳典. Yoshi's secondary school is a progressive Korean international school located in the suburbs of Osaka. There is no evidence Yoshi finished his secondary education there.

Edit: It was revealed in a 1theK video that Yoshi continued his secondary education by attending the same high school as Mashiho: Hinode High School in the Meguro district of Tokyo. Hinode High School has since changed its name since becoming affiliated with a university.

Was trying to find some Yoshinori fanfic and ran into this one with Mashiho. (It's Mashikyu and Yohiro but the main characters are Mashiho and Yoshi in a brotherly relationship.)

I know a lot of people see Yoshi as group mom but he's only like that with Haruto. After seeing his birthday video, I think he's the group pet.

This writer also clearly did not pay attention to Yoshinori during the show because he was one of the boys frequently in tears during the latter half of Treasure Box.

And another thing the writer didn't pay attention to: Although Yoshi is about ten months older than Mashiho, they are the same school year. Yoshi would not treat Mashiho like a younger brother, but an equal.

This is why I prefer AU fanfics. It's easier to let go of the details.
