Cover Corp announced the launch of its hololive English Virtual YouTuber group on Wednesday, which will deliver English-language interactions with fans on platforms such as YouTube and Twitter. Five new talents launched their Twitter accounts on Wednesday, and they will begin streaming activities on September 12-13.

The concept behind the hololive English group is "myth," as the members "hail from worlds of legend." The group's official English YouTube account released a promotional video highlighting the new talent.

Virtual Youtubers, also known as VTubers, refer to people who are active on YouTube's platform as a virtual being. Within that, Hololive production operates its business in various regions such as Japan, China and Indonesia. With over 10 million fans on YouTube and likewise over 10 million supporters on bilibili in China as well.

Mori Calliope
The Grim Reaper's first apprentice. Because the world's medical system advanced so dramatically, she became a VTuber to collect souls. It seems that the lost souls vaporized by the wholesome relationships of VTubers flow through her as well. In the end, she's a gentle-hearted girl whose sweet voice contradicts the morbid things she tends to say, as well as her hardcore vocals.

Takanashi Kiara
An idol whose dream is to become a fast food shop owner. She is a phoenix, NOT a chicken or turkey. (Very important)

She works extremely hard since she will be reborn from ashes anyway.

Ninomae Ina’nis
One day, she picked up a strange book and then started to gain the power of controlling tentacles. To her, tentacles are just a part in her ordinary life; it has never been a big deal for her. However, her girly mind does want to get them dressed up and stay pretty.

After gaining power, she started hearing Ancient Whispers and Revelations. Hence, she began her VTuber activities to deliver random sanity checks on humanity, as an ordinary girl.

Gawr Gura
A descendant of the Lost City of Atlantis, who swam to Earth while saying, "It's so boring down there LOLOLOL!" She bought her clothes (and her shark hat) in the human world and she really loves them. In her spare time, she enjoys talking to marine life.

Watson Amelia
"She heard strange rumors surrounding Hololive online: talking foxes, magical squirrels, superhuman dogs, and more. Soon after beginning her investigation on Hololive, and just out of interest, she decided to become an idol herself! She loves to pass her time training her reflexes with FPS games, and challenging herself with puzzle games.

It's elementary, right?"

they are supposed to be idols

Based on the interest in Kizuna Ai, I think they might do all right
oh i forgot about Kizuna Ai, didn't the VA got doxxed and quit?

sometimes i get recommended videos from Pekora (the rabbit) or Korone (the dog) and usually they have tons of English comments
also there are dozens of channels that translate hololive content so i guess there is definitely interest from international fans

but i think the real question is going to be if the Japanese fans are going to be interested in it, they seem to be the bulk of the fandom so this experiment is going to live or die by them

Idk as I don't follow her, but I know there's a youtube video about Kizuna Ai being controversial that's always in my recommendations (haven't seen that either).

It probably depends on if they're turned off by the English? The closest I can think of is Sally Amaki, but 22/7 aren't that big.

i don't follow Kizuna ai either but i hear of it because a member of hololive got doxxed a little ago

btw i think it would be weird if virtual j idols get popular in the west before the actual real ones :doge:

i hear of Sally, if i recall her company wasn't happy with her speaking English because they couldn't understand what she says, but i think they are allowing her for now?

There is the 2D familiarity with manga and anime at least!

Re: Sally, I think part of it is her playing it up. Her company knows that she's given the group a lot of international attention, so even if they don't know what she's saying they let her be.

As a fan of Rushia and Hololive in general, it might be interesting to see how this will be recieved. Are there a lot of English speaking people that are willing to support them enough? We can only wait and see.

I'm pretty sure English fans are excited about it from what I can see in the subreddit and one of the 4th gen members, Kiryu Coco, speaks English and about half of her viewers are overseas

my favorite is Pekora, she is so smug and petty

her "AH↓ HA↑ HA↑ HA↑" laugh is something i didn't know i needed in my life:sanapray:

because their subreddit has 100k subscribers

and since i don't think people in Japan use reddit, i think a 100,000 big international fanbase sounds like a good start

it was in reddit that i saw the news, also lately several of the members of hololive became active as both mods/users of their subreddit, maybe it was on preparation of the new gen debut

isn't Coco from america? but you are right, she always speaks English in her streams

btw, they haven't debuted yet but hololive myth members channels already reached 50k subscribers each :omgwhat:
