Recently I've been looking for some new shoes, 'coz the ones I bought last year decided to rebel and started to give me blisters :Slime: I've always been picky when it comes to choosing new ones, but whenever I did find something nice I'd grab the same shoe size I had since like 5th grade and be good to go, but for some time now most of the shoes I really liked the look of were only available in online. So this time instead of going the usual rout of checking all the shoe stores in a mall, I went straight to the net and oh boy ...

I've used the most popular Polish website for my shopping, 'coz they carry a lot of brands, have cheaper prizes compared to others and free shipping, but even tho they specialise in selling shoes and have physical locations in which you can digitally scan your foot to know exactly what size you are, they are absolutely incompetent of having the correct measurement actually written in the size charts on their website.

Most of the brands they carry have their own sites where you can find the charts for their shoes and most of the time the difference between the two is 0.5 - 1 cm in insole length. So quite frankly this whole e-size of your foot as they call it is useless, because if you use it to have the website show you shoes that will fit, you will get options that are too small. Tho I'm sure this isn't that big of problem for most people, since if they are unsure they could order 2 sizes and later return the one that doesn't fit
This isn't exactly something that online stores are responsible for, but I have to rant - shoe companies apparently decided that the size EUR 41 (9.5 US | 7.5 UK) was too big and made in smaller, 'coz somehow the size that I have been wearing for over a decade doesn't fit anymore; even tho all the shoes that I have at home are this exact size! :palcry:

And I'm not basing it on online sizes alone either, I ordered 3 pairs that according to 2 different charts should fit me and they didn't; when I measured them at home they were smaller than what charts claimed. It honestly wouldn't be much of a problem if the brands in Poland didn't decide that the standard women shoe size stops at 41, even when the same brands carry bigger sizes in other countries, so the choices are limited unless you choose from unisex/men shoes. I just want cute looking shoes in pastel color you damn bastards, let me have them!
And I have to say that the return proces is really nice and easy. Since they have physical stores you can just bring your shoes there and it takes like a minute to be done with it and if you prefer to send it back they provide you with a sticker in your order with all the postal info on it, so all you have to do is just stick on the box and send it. You also get you money back the next day in most cases, unless you returned the shoes over the weekend

Anyway what are your experiences with shopping for shoes and/or clothes online? The good, the bad, the ranty - I'm interested in what you guys have to share and how it may look in other countries :RunPar:

P.S. Please pray that the last pair I ordered will actually fit, 'coz this was literally one of few shoes in 42 that wasn't out of stock and I thought looked cute. If it doesn't I literally won't be buying shoes online ever again ...

I have only ever bought durable items like electronics and cds. No difficulty beyond waiting an eternity for the items a few times. The very thought of buying clothing or shoes that I haven't tried on first is an anathema to me because I have a strangely constructed body.

I recently ordered a pair of Steve Madden heels online and have some problems with them. I wear a size 9.5 US (I tried them on in-store first then found them cheaper online which I highly recommend if possible!) and then just be safe I ordered a size 10 US but they're still too narrow for me rip. Instead of doing the smart thing like you and returning them right away, I just kept them and told myself "well they're Steve Madden's, they're meant to cause pain in exchange for looking cute" so I kept them. Now I wear these heels of torture out of obligation. My previous experiences were similar and the shoes were always too small so I try to buy everything in-person now even tho it's wayyy more expensive.
I wish online shoe shopping wasn't always such an unnecessary headache, I really hope the pair you ordered works for you! :sanapray:

Ever single pair I tried to find off-line to try on first and then buy cheaper on the net was nowhere to be found in my city or even Poland :palcry:
Also I actually was looking at some steve madden shoes, but since EU 42 (which it shockingly had) was sold out, so I didn't even bother and reading this makes me think they would have high chance of being too narrow for me too lol They are so cute tho

awww those are really cute! when it comes to their shoes I've heard those are usually true to size so it may be worth the risk (in the future when they restock them 🤞). I didn't know it was so complicated ordering stuff online in the EU, I'll keep you in my prayers :sejeongcry:
