Been watching it a lil bit lately and actually been digging it. I still hate cutesy animes like Naruto with a passion, but some of this stuff is pretty sick. I used to hardcore love it when I was in elementary, but now as an almost college graduate I've been watching it again. Makes me feel like a kid again

That's what I've been recommended by a couple of people now. does it have any overly loud hyper moments where they get all chibi and what not? because that's the main thing that made me quit anime for the longestyou should watch one piece

LurkerSame thing happened to me. I liked Naruto back in elementary. I didn't care about Shippuden when it was already showing when I was in Hishschool but surely after I graduated College and was waiting for job calls, I got addicted again. i watched NS during those times.

There are lot of animes that don't have any of those mainstream anime tropes that may be aggravating to some people.
Just veer away from mainstream ones and the ones target at kids and teens. You can even find some artsy-fartsy ones that would make some pretentious European animations seem like Pokemon. There is a whole variety that most people hardly touch.

I wouldn't call it cutesy either, but I guess TC meant this style that dominates a lot of mainstream anime. She mentioned some of the anime antics that also is common in popular series.
Not the right word as anime buffs may associate cute with kawaii and moe stuff, but you kinda get it what tc means.

Sadly, the anime that's come out the past few years haven't been able to pique my interest. Certainly seems more shonen/cutesy than seinen/adult-oriented stuff being produced.
