they're always trying to educate others as if they are morally and culturally superiorAnticipating it being Yoohyeon's fault in their eyes when nothing happens, now that she's been "educated"......... in a minute............ through a translator.
even if dc change their name or logo, how does that really help to improve the native american situation?

Nothing, it'd do literally nothing. All it would accomplish is potentially damage the recognition DC has crawled up to.they're always trying to educate others as if they are morally and culturally superior

99% are just pretending to be offended on behalf of somebody else, for stan twitter social justice points... But it's the 1% crazies who actually act on it

Somebody really read a cultural appropriation "script", to the girls during their 1 minute video call slot......................... they must be fun at parties
they're always trying to educate others as if they are morally and culturally superior
even if dc change their name or logo, how does that really help to improve the native american situation?
I find it silly that it's always some person who is not a Native American trying to educate others on the topic. What do you want DC to do about it at this point? Really? What do you want them to say? What do you want them to change? The group name? The logo?
And why spend all that money to get into a fan call (that any other fan would be more than happy to attend) just to lecture them for the whole minute you get to talk to them and make them feel uncomfortable? I can think of a number of things to talk to Yoohyeon about.
The whole "cultural appropriation" thing reminds me of the term "Latinx" where people who aren't "Latinx" use the term to be inclusive, but most people that are "Latinx" don't use the term to describe themselves.
Why people are split on using 'Latinx' | CNN
"Latinx" has emerged as an inclusive term to refer to people of Latin American descent. But a new survey found that even among the people "Latinx" is intended to describe, few have heard of the term -- let alone use it. It's an example of just how complex identity can be for any population.

WHO THE HELL WAS THAT PERSON?? I dare him/her to show its face to the fandom.
Serious, I'm really pissed with this. Most people who claim "cultural apropriation" don't even know their own culture! AND "cultural apropriation" is totally bullcrap, and yes I can speak with authority about this because I'm a native american descent and every time someone brings this up it pisses me off! I am sure none of the real native americans gives a sh*t about this because the first thing they do when they meet someone is share their culture. Did these people (that are NOT related to the real american natives) even think about culture sharing instead??

It feels more like a "stunt", someone wants to appear as the "hero", because it's quite dumb or arrogant to think that you can "educate" someone from another side of the world and different culture in just 1 minute. It's not even a straightforward thing, CA is a topic for discussion and not black & white/right or wrong thing.I find it silly that it's always some person who is not a Native American trying to educate others on the topic. What do you want DC to do about it at this point? Really? What do you want them to say? What do you want them to change? The group name? The logo?

I'm not familiar with Latinx, but reading the article I guess it's similar to how US categorise the Asian Americans (many ethnicities and cultures lump under one big umbrella)

It seems to be a US thing, maybe due to historical reason? Idk. Maybe they should think about the actual issue why dreamcatchers are so commercialised?WHO THE HELL WAS THAT PERSON?? I dare him/her to show its face to the fandom.

As a Chinese descent, can I be angry at non-east asian appropriating chopsticks? Or Italians appropriating noodles into spaghettis (stop eating spaghettis!! You must only eat noodles from Chinese restaurants, or wherever noodles originated from). And stop all Chinese kungfu related activities, don't learn or teach kungfu if you're not Chinese... Wow so many things to be angry about

Yes, it is a U.S. thing. In the past the U.S. has treated other cultures badly while taking things from those cultures. There's been a movement lately to respect other cultures and their ideas nowadays because the U.S. has become so mixed. This especially applies to cultures that are continually mistreated here like Native Americans. In that respect, I understand calling out cultural appropriation when what someone is doing is disrespectful, etc. However I've also seen people call it out nowadays when someone legitimately wants to learn about another culture and because they aren't from that culture, they are committing cultural appropriation (I don't pretend to understand why learning about another culture and taking part in customs, etc. is a problem)
All that said, I question the purpose of the cultural appropriation warriors on Twitter. If everything is going to be called out as cultural appropriation, what's the point? What difference is being made for the cultures that are being oppressed? Intent should count for something and Dreamcatcher clearly means no harm.

Name and logo, they want those gone. They had stfu because DCC hadn't used an actual dreamcatcher in a logo for a while, but then they slapped one on the neogen products, and it's fired back up.I find it silly that it's always some person who is not a Native American trying to educate others on the topic. The logo SURE, If people don't like the use of imagery they consider important, ok whatever. DC uses different logos all the time, that's an easy fix. (not that I think the company will anyway) But the NAME, any real fan, would know just how hard they've worked to get the name out there. Scrapping the group name, company name, all their socials, the merch.... Because of an ENGLISH word?
They did, openly, they got praise for it in fact. I'd link it, but I'd rather not give them anymore attention.WHO THE HELL WAS THAT PERSON?? I dare him/her to show its face to the fandom.

Yoohyeon just listened awkwardly, they said she looked attentive, I think she looked uncomfortable. The whole thing was done through a translator too, so fucks knows what she actually got lmao.
Around a year ago, these people actually reached out to some native american accounts for their thoughts.... They didn't really care, one guy even thanked them for sharing because he liked the music.
They recorded it and shared it... So it was clearly for attention. If you were genuinely trying to educate them, you wouldn't feel the need to show everybody you did.It feels more like a "stunt", someone wants to appear as the "hero", because it's quite dumb or arrogant to think that you can "educate" someone from another side of the world and different culture in just 1 minute. Same. I also just received my Dreamcatcher Mysterious Mansion and Mind sets today. Maybe I'll get a chance to open them tomorrow
OT - MLD Entertainment is awful. Let Daisy go. At least she should be creating a new Instagram account soon to communicate with fans directly
MLD Entertainment Ordered By Court To Pay Former MOMOLAND Member Daisy Unpaid Earnings + Agency Files Appeal
In the court case involving MLD Entertainment and former MOMOLAND member Daisy regarding unpaid wages, the court has sided with the latter. Back in July 2016, MLD Entertainment selected group members through the audition program Finding Momoland. Daisy was eliminated during the show, but she...

It upsets me that someone would go to these lengths to make any of the girls feel uncomfortable. It's better I don't know who this person is because I might actually make a Twitter account just to follow them and tell them off.
