Hybe Group Speeches
I am actually getting this from Pannchoa, forgive me
Korean netizen's have been criticizing Le Sserafim and Illit's awards speeches at the Golden Disc Awards.
Both groups thanked Bang Sihyuk in their speeches and many Korean netizens have been attacking the groups for doing so, feeling that it was insensitive of them to mention BSK in front of New Jeans who were sitting in the audience.
The reactions towards their speeches seem to vary a lot.
- Some people are saying the girls were most likely forced too thank him in the speech and to not take it too seriously. Many International Kpop fans feel this way as well since it's very common for Kpop artists to thank their ceo's for no reason in their speeches since they have to.
- Some people still think that even if the girls were forced to do so they should have refused to thank him because he's a terrible person.
- Many Korean netizens seem to think both groups were not forced to thank him due to the fact that it was an acceptance speech and are calling the girls trash and "princesses".
- Many Tokki's are pissed off at the two groups though because they feel that the girls had a lot of audacity to mention BSK in front of NJ, and think the groups should have taken NJ's feelings into consideration more before saying their speeches.
- (I am personally on team they were forced to do so, and I don't think this was an attack at NJ at all

Everyone Hates SM
The SM hate train never ceases to stop.
Originally I planned for this section to talk about Taeyeon and Wendy, but while I was typing this out a thread about it was already made so I'm just going to provide a link to that thread.
There are other things people are mad about though which include:
- SM not announcing Wendy and Taeyeon's absence till last minute, making it seem like they were the ones pulling out last minute and putting the blame on them when it's SM's fault.
- The fact that there are only 10 female SM artists attending SM town, and there are zero female SM artists attending any of the international SM concerts.
- The astronomically high prices of the international SM concerts despite the lackluster lineup since many artists cannot attend. In a fancall in December someone let Kun from WayV/NCT know that the starting price for some of the tickets were $1000 and even he was shocked to hear the prices were that high.
As of right now I have no idea what the lineup for SM town international concerts are, though I do know for a fact no female artists will be attending (I know Aespa has their own tour, and people are wondering if RV's contract negotiations are the reason they will not be attending any of the other concerts). I know Shinee will not be attending as well, or at least not as a group, but I wouldn't be surprised if Key or Minho attend as a soloist.
- Additionally, it has been also announced that Taemin of Shinee will not be attending the concert and Shinee will be participating as 3 members. This is most likely due to the fact that Taemin is in the middle of a world tour right now. People are currently divided online, partially mad at SM for not having all 4 Shinee members attending when they have been implying all members will attend all along, and people are partially attacking Taemin online for not attending the SM concert.

Madein Comeback
Madein is currently embroiled in many controversies right now including the situation with Gaeun, other members having visible bruises on their body and having depression, and being in debt with an unpaid wages and fees controversy.
It was just announced this morning that Madein will be having a comeback next month in February.
It was also announced that despite Gaeun being kicked out of the group, she is still stuck under contract with her company.
Fans are asking people to please boycott Madein's comeback due to the company being terrible. Fans want justice for the members.
Additionally, fans are asking for Kpop stores (across the US but I believe also internationally) to please refuse to buy and stock Madein's upcoming album along with discontinuing to stock their previous albums as well. We have previously seen this boycott tactic last year when many kpop stores across the US announced they will no longer sell RIIZE albums due to the mistreatment of Sungchan.
Additionally, Madein's social media accounts have been actively blocking anyone on social media who talks about boycotting Madein. Many big Madein fan accounts have been blocked already.
Comeback Announcement
BB Girls Comeback
Speaking of comebacks, BB girls have dropped the teaser photos for their upcoming single "Love 2" which will be coming out next week on January 15th!
This will be their first comeback under their new company (and I believe as 3 members?)

SPIA Disbandment
We have another kpop girl group disbandment.
SPIA, formerly known as Campus Girls, has seemed to have silently disbanded after 3 of the 4 members have opened personal instagram accounts. The group debuted less that a year ago in April 2024 with the song "Daddy's Little Girl". (The title of this song gives me the ick )
The group originally debuted with 5 members but their youngest member, Hana, left this past September due to "health issues".
GOT7 SNS
In some happier news, Got7 has officially regained control of their original social media accounts!
Usually when a group leaves a company, the original company keeps control of the social media accounts and the group needs to make a new account.
(Currently, The Boyz have been getting attacked online for having to make new social media accounts after leaving IST. It actually got so bad that at one point their new twitter was disabled for awhile due to Korean netizens reporting the account cause they were unhappy).
It's extremely difficult for groups to keep their social medias, so congrats to Got7 for getting their accounts back!
TWS Lightstick
Pledis's newest boy group, TWS (Twenty Four Seven With Us), has unveiled it's lightstick today and it's getting a lot of attention online for it's unique design!
I personally like the design, it reminds me of a pushpop lollypop
TWS has been doing very well lately! They have been charting really high and won multiple rookie of the year awards this awards season!

This seems like an extremely awkward attempt to push what a fandom says as being a reason to hate a group. If that was the case I would hate most groups but I do not. More a sad truth about overall toxic kpop fandoms.

Everybody hates SM for an endless variety of reasons.

I mainly feel bad for all these girls who are innocent especially Gaeun. I really will not support in any way because I can't help an awful ceo like that.
