Here's today's New Jeans News

New Jeans Donation

We have some happy news today!

New Jeans has made a donation of 100 Million Won (About 70,000 USD) in the name of their fans, Bunnies/Tokkis, to the Green Umbrella organization!

Green Umbrella’ is a specialized child welfare organization, family caregivers are children and adolescents who take care of family members who are in need of help due to old age, disability, or illness at a time when they should be protected.

The fund will be used to support 30 families with family caregivers across the country, including livelihood, housing, learning, and medical care, as well as self-reliance support such as career and employment.

They made the donation in the name of independence. The girls have said:
We decided to make this donation to provide essential support for the healthy growth of children and youth in family care, as well as to help them become independent. "We will continue to pay attention so that children can find and achieve their dreams."

With all of this tiring drama going around its nice to see some good news for a change! What a sweet gesture from the girls!

Hanni Visa Issues

Some issues have arose today regarding Hanni's work visa.

According to google, Korean entertainment visas are good for around 1-2 years before you need to renew.

With this being every 2 years and NJ being in their 3rd year, next year Hanni will need to renew their visa.

Issues have arose regarding her visa though. Apparently someone has reported Hanni for visa fraud because Ador was sponsoring her work visa and since she quit, by law she technically would have 15-30 days to find a new sponsor and get a new visa. Her claiming to have left Ador would have invalidated her visa.

Ador has released a statement saying that since they are claiming NJ's contracts are still valid, they are currently working on all the paperwork to renew Hanni's visa.

There is also a lot of back and forth debate on twitter about whether Ador releasing a statement about her visa is a violation of her personal information. Tokki's are claiming by talking about Hanni's visa, they are releasing her information without consent, this counts as workplace harassment, and Ador/Hybe should be sued again.

Others are arguing that the knowledge that work visas are for 1-2 years are public knowledge, and people online should be allowed to speculate about her visa.

For the time being, I think I will just call this series "New Jeans News" for the hashtag. I can always rename it later.

Thats all I have for now.

I feel like ador/hybe looks less and less in charge and more reactionary in this situation. First they didn't send a cease and disist to omega sa or a lawsuit over what they claim is an illegal contract with a member. Now they claim that they are working on hanni's visa publicly for no reason. If they believe the contract is valid the report against hanni's visa is groundless and it will remain in effect and therefore needs no public acknowledgment.

Prior and separate from this I would agree that it would have been an individual's right to speak out. Now it is predominantly because ador/hybe raised it in public and opened up the speculation by releasing private information.

For some context: a person apparently reported Hanni for visa fraud because if she left ador and ador was sponsoring her visa she legally would have 15-30 days to sign with a new company to sponsor her visa. To my understanding, Ador announced this as a response to the people claiming Hanni’s overstaying her visa.

*edit* I’m also wondering if maybe Ador can’t sue omega or anyone for the contracts yet because the courts need to decide if the contract is valid first?

If Ador sues Omega now but the courts rule in favor of NJ later the court case would be for nothing?

They are responding publicly to something that was privately reported to the government though. The government didn't release this in a public statement. They needed only to respond to the government in this issue.

the fact that some ppl genuinely think she would get deported if ador don't renew her visa is so funny 😭 as if there's no other possible visa she could get...

They could still request a "cease and disist order" against omega or miss marsh or both which is much simpler. Since they are in dispute and not doing things to prevent brand damage could be used against ador/hybe in court as a proof they don't believe in the validity of their contract anymore.

ADOR won't let them be at ease but until the court or justice decide about the contract, I think Hanni will be okay...for now since she's still "working" with the company.
