Once again I don't have too much but here's your kpop news update.
I am doing a follow up on he Dara situation so I am once again labeling this as sensitive content. The Dara situation is the only sensitive content in this update though.

I'm starting this off with a follow up from the 2NE1 Dara controversy from the last roundup.
The controversial video has been re-edited to remove the part of the video where she admitted to lying about her age and dating a minor. An apology was never given by Dara and they claimed the part of the video was removed due to avoid misunderstandings due to "cultural differences".
(Cultural Differences? That's her excuse? Really?

Fans are very much still mad and have since been bringing up other instances where she has been making inappropriate remarks towards minors, such as an instance in the past where she admitted to being attracted/having a crush on Minho from Winner when at the time he was still a minor (Dara is also 9 years older than Minho).

NJZ Hanni Visa
News outlets have partially confirmed that Hanni has rejected Ador's visa extension.

Though when asked Ador released the statement:
Without her having an E6 visa NJZ would currently be banned from promoting in Korea as a full group due to Hanni not being able to participate. It is being speculated that this is why NJZ are currently focusing on oversea schedules such as the festival in Hong Kong.
To my understanding, Hanni would be able to reside in Korea under a different visa though she wouldn't be able to participate in any promotions in Korea, only oversea ones.

MHJ KDrama Actually Real
I heard the WILDEST news this morning and just had to share it with you
I don't know if you guys remember from last year but MHJ said in one of her many statements in this ongoing drama that when all of this is over she wishes to release a Kdrama about all of this.
An article was released today that the director of the netflix Kdrama "Mask Girl" is currently working on casting for his newest drama called "Variety" which is a thriller about drama unfolding in the idol industry. The Kdrama seems to revolve around a female kpop idol group since the article source says they want to cast real idols and cast people like they are forming a real idol group.
Son YeJin was reached out to play the role of the "charasmatic ceo who is reminiscent of MHJ" though her company has released a statement saying she only just received the script and hasn't made any decisions on accepting the role yet. Jo Yuri has also been reached out to play a leading role in the Kdrama.

T.O.P Releases Statement
There was some confusion going on yesterday with articles floating around about T.O.P possibly rejoining Big Bang.
The assumption that he was rejoining Big Bang stemmed from the fact that he still goes by the name TOP on instagram and the fact that his name is still listed on Big Bang's official youtube channel. People also thought his recent release of new profile photos was a sign for something.
Some additional information I would like to shout out is that I remember him saying in one of the squid game interviews that he wishes to release new music this year. He said his new music/solo music will still be released under the name T.O.P though any acting activities will be under his real name Choi Seunghyun.
A representative of TOP released a statement to the media clarifying that he has always gone by TOP on instagram and never removed it, and his original statement that he has no intention of rejoining the group still stands. YG also released a statement clarifying that they haven't updated the youtube channel from Big Bang's release in 2022 which is why his name is still there.
Many western kpop fans still wish to see him rejoin the group again. I'm seeing mixed reviews from Knetz about it.

Key Zodiac Sign Confirmed
This might seem like nothing to y'all but this is news to me.
Shinee's Key was born on a Virgo-Libra cusp so there has always been a debate on whether Key's Zodiac sign is actually Virgo or Libra.
We finally found out the time he was born and it has now been officially confirmed that he is a Virgo.
(Maybe it's because i'm also a Virgo, but I always thought he was a Virgo. He seems like a stereotypical Virgo to me.)

EXO's Kai has officially been discharged from the military!
He even seems to have held a livestream making this his first public appearance since his return.

I have a few personal comments:
- With 2NE1 performing at a big American festival soon I am genuinely shocked Dara didn't release an apology. Her western fans are probably the ones most upset over this and I wouldn't be surprised if someone tries to plan some sort of boycott against her at the concert.
- I personally thinking whatever NJZ's new company is will be sponsoring her next visa. It will take a hot minute before it gets approved, but I'm sure she will get a visa one way or another.
- I DIDN'T THINK SOMEONE WOULD ACTUALLY MAKE A MHJ KDRAMA I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO SAY

We all already knew Hanni wouldn't be able to work in Korea if she didn't extend her visa under ADOR. I guess we'll find out whose NJZ's foreign investor is soon because someone has to sign off on them being able to promote in China and the other countries they'll go to.
I wonder if MHJ will sue if the drama goes into production and she doesn't like how she's portrayed.
