ANNOUNCEMENT 2023 Year End Thoughts & Happy New Year!

This is super late I know!

In the blink of an eye the year is done. It was a year to remember for sure. There are too many things to name that occurred worthy of mention, primarily political (shits depressing man let's not talk about it tbh) but also in music. Who would have thought Hybe would be on the verge of buying SM? GD leaving YG ent? A Japanese group by the name of XG coming out and delivering quality music in English while operating in South Korea?

As I do every year now, I want to sincerely thank our staff. Without them this site would not run. And without our community there would be no site. Special thanks to some wonderful member who saved our ass again during the server renewal drive whom I still dont know the identity of. Seriously, thank you anonymous person!

Many important things that happened on H+ as well as in music were mentioned by Polaris here, make sure to check it out!

Lastly, we are always thinking of new things to bring to you, our community. There were a couple of features and addons mentioned during 2022 - 2023 that are still pending. We work on these things in our spare time and as old people, its hard finding that time sometimes. But don't worry, we will continue to work on these things and make sure to deliver quality for our community when they are ready.

Happy New Year, everyone! An itemized list for staff:

1. Admin @Ackerman Thank you for keeping this site together and trusting the staff to run it. I've had a long run as a gfx member and I can say that you've been very pleasant to work with since I started out. I know I can be silly sometimes, but I really do appreciate our time working together. Now let's get that darn blog done. @roseychu Honestly, I've always found you to be one of the most fun people on this site. I feel like you're always down for a silly convo and an insurmountable project. This site would be impossible without you and I appreciate the amazing things you produce for staff. @sm maid the baddie, b-b-baddie baddie of staff! Thank you for always being cool with me annoying mods and being so diligent with the site. I know you're actually pretty pre-occupied irl but I love being able to chat with you when we can. Thank you for keeping a good relationship between staff and users.

2. Mods @Vampire we haven't had a one on one in so long, but congrats at doing an amazing job, dude! You're always on call and we appreciate how diplomatic you are. Keep up the good work! @Dead Inside another baddie! It is awesome to see you on the mod team, and honestly you asserting rules is giving true "step on me" energy! @Idol Killer I don't think we've talked much but I've always thought you were super cool! Thank you for putting up with the crazy people on your team lol I'd be drifting in the ocean if I had to deal with a whole musketeers staff.

3. Events @Bchip Honestly, I don't really understand how you function. I feel like under a few extreme circumstances (when the forum was kinda in disarray) you really managed to re-organize and adapt with the team and somehow make the Events team even more streamlined. From first-hand experience, I know running an event and making the assets and such is a heaping task, so you really have my respect. @Chiharu Even though you are an opp (jkjk) I do love playing your games! I love how they tend to be pretty tongue-in-cheek and aren't always so formal. Keep up the good work. @soozie My liege! Also taking on a cumbersome task of doing a lot of things on your own but somehow keeping it fresh! I really appreciate the care you put into every aspect of an event and I appreciate you the most. And that has nothing to do with me adoring you at all. It really doesn't, you're just very talented. Off topic, but I do miss Aki. Not listing her really makes the reality that time is ticking very present.

4. Awards @tokki I really don't know how you're doing it solo but you're amazing for it! I'm really happy to see you doing well <3

5. Social Media @Polaris_Tae thank you for still running ICYMI! I think you're doing a great job reviving this team and I hope we can get a lot of fresh new recruits who are passionate. You've been through a lot in your position and a lot of it should have never happened but I'm proud of you for pushing through. @voyagexg welcome to the mess that is staff!

6. Translation @Lurkette Welp, and my girl, thank you to my girl. You've gotten the spiel but congratulations on your promotion! You've been pushing out amazing translations and honestly, I think you deserve a raise too! (do we still get paid?) Anyway, I am glad to see you thriving and I hope to see some awesome projects come from translations team. @janajaytrans Thank you for your work, as well!

7. GFX @yerm you're the best yerm. As someone who helped you put together your first portfolio, I cannot express how proud I am of your growth. I don't think I got a chance to congratulate you on becoming the lead of the team, but I am so deeply proud of you. You held this team together when it needed it most and you continue to carry all of the tasks on your back. I am sorry that you had to do it alone for so long but I am pleased to see how you've blossomed.

Happy New Year everyone! The past year was crazy in terms of news revelations. Both in Japan with Johnny's finally getting cancelled, as well as Korea. Never thought I'd see the day that SM would almost get swallowed by HYBE. I hope we can spend another great year with everyone!
