I know we're all getting tired of this, and tbh me too a bit, but here is the newest Hybe vs Ador drama updates as of 9/30 because apparently we can't even have 1 week of peace. :lizheadache:

Here is the previous update from 9/26

Hanni Called To Testify In Court

Hanna and the former Hybe head of HR/Current Ador CEO are being called to testify about Hanni’s bullying scandal.

The current Ador CEO is required to show up, but Hanni may request to not show up if she can prove it will be a burden to her.

You can read the full post on this here.

MHJ Given A New Court Date

MHJ was removed from her CEO position at ADOR and offered to stay on as NJ’s producer/creative director for the next 5 years (aka the remainder of NJ’s contract).

MHJ rejected this new position, saying the details of the contract was not beneficial to her. NJ’s later held a broadcast saying they want MHJ reinstated or else, and a few hours after that broadcast MHJ said she would be taking Hybe to court for removing her from her position.

MHJ claimed that her being removed from her position is a violation of her shareholder’s agreement which is set to expire on November 2nd of this year.

If you also remember from before, Hybe removed a bunch of shareholders and higher-ups from Ador who were scheming with MHJ to leave Hybe.

After the shareholders who were with MHJ was removed and replaced it was then that MHJ was voted out of her CEO position by the new shareholders (if i'm recalling correctly).

MHJ filing an injunction against HYBE’s voting rights to reinstate herself as CEO. Her new injunction is set to be held in court on October 11th

MHJ is also claiming MHJ being voted out of her position is in violation of the court’s order prohibiting Hybe from exercising their voting right.

Here are two quotes from the court in regards to this:
"It is clear that Min sought ways to independently control ADOR, but it is difficult to conclude that she went beyond the exploration phase to concrete actions, and it cannot be considered an act of embezzlement toward ADOR."
"Given the imminent shareholders' meeting and the difficulty of Min obtaining remedy through a full lawsuit, there is a need to restrict HYBE's voting rights."

Tokki’s Threaten To Sue
Going back to the first topic from today, it was Tokki’s, New Jean’s fanbase, that submitted the complaints that Hanni was getting bullied and launched this investigation.

Now, a group of Tokki’s (i’m not sure if its the same Tokki’s but I’m pretty sure it is), is threatening to sue the current Ador CEO who is going to testify with Hanni.

This group is calling themselves “Team Bunnies/Tokki’s” is threatening/preparing to file a lawsuit against the current Ador CEO for the following reasons:

- For failing to protect New Jeans regarding the pre debut videos that were released without their consent.
- For failing to protect them from all of the negative and fake press/news regarding them in the media
- Dismissing MHJ
- Canceling the fan meeting and pausing all of their future albums (they are in a hiatus right now)

They are claiming all of these things + more are causing ADOR and New Jeans billions of won in damages and should be considered embezzlement in the line of duty.

They also want MHJ reinstated as CEO.

If Ador does not take proper action against these things listed they will be filing criminal charges against the current Ador CEO. (I’m not sure if they will be filing it on New Jean’s behalf, or if they are filing the charges themselves).

This is the biggest news in kpop right now which is why I keep making these compilations, but I know some people are getting sick of this drama. Do y'all want me to stop posting these for awhile? (or in general?) Let me know!

I think there is value to documenting the development of history as it unfolds play by play. For one, it can give us perspective after all is said and done and opportunity to learn what we can, perhaps. It can also serve a record of sorts, as to what the pulse of the community was at the time of these events.

As a fan of NewJeans' music myself, the whole situation is a disappointment from a personal enjoyment level, no matter the resolve, at this point.
I'm also at the point in my k-pop career where I've chosen not to lean too deeply to any newer acts, and stick to my old faves. I'm particular glad of this, given the turn for NJ here lately.
So, while I'm not particularly attached to the persons involved (not sure I could even identify the NJ members tbh), I do feel pity for them as fellow human beings, caught in the crossfire of greed, etc.

Anyways. I find it helpful to have these digestible summaries so that I don't have to go digging for it myself. At the same time, I could understand if others are over it. But, I might also consider, that at that point, one could choose to not open the thread with titles that suggest this is the content, no? Same as I don't watch TV so I don't have to see the mess that is news in the U.S.

In any case, thank you @RussianRoulette for continuing to take the time to compile and share with our community what you've found. Hopefully you can feel equally free to step away from documenting it all if you're feeling it has become more of a pressure/burning out from the whole thing of it.
🙏

MHJ needs to accept her L and move on :jinjudge:

I don't see how refusing to promote an act can be tantamount to embezzlement since, as long as the group is on hiatus, the label won't make money from the group to embezzle in the first place
I'm sure f(x) & Blackpink fans have had it so much worse re: extended hiatuses

The fandom overreach here is insane. Stop filing suits for public figures smh
Only in Kpop would this be seen as a positive sjkjkssk

These are great run-downs of the drama. and in a wholly inflated mess that the MHJxHYBE mess is, it's great for people who often get lost in the news re: this situation

Mini update: the Tokki’s have made the final decision to sue since Hybe/Ador is not responding to them.

They will be making a formal legal complaint and have been in contact with Korea’s Culture, Sports, and Tourism Committee to urge them to do a formal audit on Hybe (and I think specifically Bang PD?).

Them and other NJ’s fans have also been frequently contacting government agencies/offices and lawmakers to get them to look into their issues and Hybe.

I believe they are also arguing that Hybe is a violation of their government institution?

They will be sharing their full legal complaint after it’s filed so we’ll get more info then.
