It's been announced that Matsuzaka Tori will be playing the lead role in "Ano Koro. Danshi Kashimashi Monogatari", a film adaptation of an autobiographical comic essay by Tsurugi Mikito.

Synopsis (rough translation by me)
Tsurugi hits rock bottom after failing a graduate school entrance exam, with no money, no girlfriend, and nothing to look forward to. One day, he becomes a fan of Hello! Project idols after watching music videos of Matsuura Aya, and spends his youth in a band called "Renai Kenkyuukai (恋愛研究会。)" with friends he met at (H!P) events.

But as time goes on and friends drift away as they find other interests, Tsurugi reunites with the band members after a long time thanks to a certain something.

Production started this January and is scheduled to be released sometime in 2021.

Script by Tominaga Masanori
Directed by Imaizumi Rikiya

It was reported last month that Matsuzaka Tori was spotted at Morning Musume's Yoyogi Gymnasium concert, however the members themselves didn't know until it was already in the news. We now know that it's because of his ties with this movie.
