[AKP] Microdot & Sanchez's parents given prison sentences for fraud

Microdot and Sanchez's parents have been officially sentenced to prison for fraud.

On October 8, the Cheongju District Court sentenced their father to 3 years of jail, while their mother received 1 year. Judge Ha Sung Woo stated, "The Shin couple borrowed money, and it looks as if they had no intention to repay the loan. The nature of the crime is not good as they borrowed money from the victims when they already had over 100 million Won ($83,733 USD) in debt. The victims suffered a long time, and a few victims have died."

The judge continued, "They did not attempt to change the damage for the past 20 years, the victims have requested a severe punishment, and the fact that there was a written agreement for some were all factored into the sentencing."

As previously reported, the couple was indicted on the charges of fraud for scamming their neighbors, then fleeing the country in order to avoid paying the money back. They scammed a total of 14 victims for 400 million KRW (~ $336,000 USD) approximately 20 years ago.

Unfortunate that the kids' careers had to suffer for the parents' crimes. But at least there's closure for the victims - 400M KRW 20 years ago would have been big money back then, and the loss of funds would have caused enormous hardship. Hopefully all the victims will be properly compensated. But it's unlikely that the two kids will get back their music careers again, SK being what it is.

The kids are at fault as the parents. They could’ve help fix the situation for their parents wrong doings but didn’t. The kids lived off the scammed money. They could’ve repaid the victims back but didn’t in the end.

MICRODOT AND SANCHEZ LIVED OFF THE VICTIMS MONEY HOW HARD IS THAT NOT TO UNDERSTAND? They could’ve fixed the situation by repaying the victims back considering they were celebrities and had the money to do so.

Boggles my mind how some of you are defending this unbelievable and laughable. Don’t even try to blame this on an East Asian cultural thing. This happens in the west too google Bernie madoff and Charles Manson kids. They had nothing to do with the crimes but they’re being punished too.

Boggles my mind how you can't understand that they were kids when the crimes were committed, and in all likelihood had no knowledge of the crime. Did you know what shenanigans your parents were up to when you were five? In fact, the reason why they didn't "fix" the situation before it blew up was because they believed that their parents were innocent. Do you honestly believe that they would become public figures and blatantly flaunt their parents on TV if they knew of the past? Doesn't take a lot of brain cells to make that connection.

If you bothered to research the topic instead of just flapping your lips, you'd realize that there were already agreements made to pay back the victims, and I don't doubt that the kids would have had a part in that.
