Are chipmunk and hamster idols basically the same?

This is sort of a continuation from my previous thread here
And I have said there that I am partial towards hamster and chipmunk idols. But this got me thinking...

are they basically the same?

Both are known for the bubbly/puffy cheeks and cute facial features. Some idols even use both. Wendy at one point
uses hamster emoji but now is a chipmunk.

I think people are basing it solely on fur and cheeks. In that context it is not bad though I will always use hamster.
However chipmunks are much more active than hamsters in real life. Chipmunks are constantly searching for food. Hamsters are by nature nocturnal and not super active.
It comes down to personal perspective.

Interesting thought. But there have been idols who interchange between hamster and chipmunks throughout the years. It's almost as if it's an identity crisis

Hams:
- Cute
- Fluffy
- Angelic
- Cute round face/chubby cheeks.
- Could never do any wrong.
- Take Umji for example. She’s a cute angel who can do no wrong

Chipmunks:
- Evil
- Chaos
- Tiny
- Is trying to take over the world
- Take Hongjoong from Ateez for example who’s a squirrel/chipmunk. He’s tiny. He’s a male Scorpio. He will fight you.
Take a look at his crime squirrel thing Jjoonggrami:

He is going to barge into your house. He is going to commit a crime. He is going to commit arson. He probably does tax fraud. He is not like a ham.
