No. I just hate that feeling you get in your stomach whenever they lurch up or down.

Nope

But I do get nervous when an elevator takes really long to open its doors

A little bit. I was always using stairs in my college bc the elevator was very problematic, he even fell 5 floors with a professor in it once.

I'm scared of them. They just seem like death traps. If something goes wrong you could plummet to your death or get cut in half trying to escape. If there are stairs, I take the stairs instead, even if it's a tall building. I'm not taking any risks just to save time lol

Once forced the doors open as a kid and watch as the elevator almost didn't make it to the next floor :sanapray:

I used to be terrified of them and the way they felt when I was younger, but now they only make me slightly uncomfortable at times. Those things are death traps, though!

No. I still like to take stairs though for a little bit of extra exercise!

Elevators have a lot of safety redundancies.

I find this site about elevator myths and truths. Here is some excerpts.

MYTH - Many people believe elevators are held up by only one rope that can break, leaving passengers in a free falling car.

TRUTH - Elevators are supported by multiple steel cables. Each cable alone can support a fully loaded car. The only elevator fall due to a complete cable system failure occurred during the 1940’s when an airplane crashed into the empire state building and severed all the cables on a particular elevator.

MYTH - Some people believe that an overcrowded elevator will fall.

TRUTH - An overloaded car will normally not move. The doors will stay open and a buzzer may ring until enough people get off of the elevator to reduce the weight.

I hope this gives some of you a little peace of mind. :HappyPar:
