SM is so shitty with schedules, performance freedom, and contract renewals. I'm not surprised.

Wendy said she notified SM that she couldn't attend weeks ago but for some reason SM didn't announce it until last minute.

As of right now we still have no confirmation on if Wendy, Joy, and Yeri are renewing their contract with SM. Fans are wondering if Wendy's poor treatment from SM is a result of her deciding not to renew with SM.

Additionally, IMO I feel like Taeyeon is heavily implying she's leaving SM too. Here is the third part of her bubble message:
