Kinda random but I wanted y’all’s thoughts on this.
There aren’t many fancams of Gayu Daejejun. (Mostly due to people trying to be respectful).
The number of fancams so far online also depends on the artists playing. Some artist’s staff did not give 2 F’s if you were filming. Other artist’s staff (I know Taemin’s staff were in this mix) were actively kicking people out and confiscating cell phones of anyone who had it visible (even if it’s just in your back pants pocket).
I also found out apparently staff were actively going through the confiscated phones to see if anything on the phone needed to be deleted?
I know in Kpop concerts it’s not uncommon to be kicked out of concerts if caught filming (I know Japan is strict on this).
Maybe it’s just because I’ve only been to kpop concerts in America, but hearing that staff are allowed to go through your cell phone without your consent seems a bit crazy to me
In the US I’ve seen staff be allowed to ask you to delete stuff and make you show your phone to them to prove it’s been deleted? But I’ve never heard of staff just taking your phone, walking away, and going through it. Like, what if your phone gets into the wrong hands?
I can see it being necessary though if for example someone was trying to film up a female idol’s skirt.
I just wanted y’all’s thoughts and opinions: do you guys think it’s normal/ok for staff to go through people’s phones? Or do you think that crosses a line a bit?
What are your phone policy thoughts for Kpop concerts?

Let me say this - official recordings are ugly as hell, and fans do it better. I actively hate that fans are being boxed out.
HOWEVER, it is because fansite masters (and regular fans?? Like why are y'all taking nasty videos of other fans??) have AWFUL etiquette so I can't write my 1000 word petition on removing restrictions.
I'd rather safe and comfortable fans than amazing fancams.

idk how policies work tbh. If the rule is no filming, and they catch you filming, then i don't have a problem with someone being kicked out. Going through the phone seems a bit of an overreach.

I definitely think it might have had to do with the airing delay because of the mourning period and remaining respectful during it. That said policy should have been set in advance and no personal phones gone through.
