Road To Kingdom Season 2 has officially begun.
In previous updates about this show it was announced that the prizes for this season would change from the previous competition.
In the previous Road To Kingdom the winners of the competition won the chance to compete in the Kingdom competition.
Season 2 has begun broadcasting and it was revealed in the first episode that the prize for winning this season's competition would be 100 million won (about 75,000 USD) and the chance to perform at KCON 2025.
As you can expect, both Knets and oversea Kpop fans are calling this year's prizes BS.
Both Knetizens and oversea netizens seem to think Kcon is not a big enough prize and the winners should at least get to perform at MAMA or something.
There is also the fact that some of the artist, such as Cravity, have already performed at KCON.
The prize money, which is 100 million won, can be a huge amount of money for a small company. Though if you remember from the first season (and the first season of kingdom) the companies pay out of pocket themselves for what goes into the stages, they do not receive an allowance to put into their performances, so many feel that the prize money pretty much is that they will be reimbursed for all the money they will be spending on the show.
Many people online are also wondering if there might not be a Kingdom season 2 due to the prizes changing.
It was previously announced that Kindgom season 2 would be filmed in 2025 and a possible line up list dropped, but due to many people feeling iffy about whether the artists in that list would actually be willing to do the show many are wondering if the show will be canceled.
Unless they reveal later on in the season that the winner will compete in Kingdom season 2, I also don't really see the point in doing a Road To Kingdom season 2 if the winners aren't even going to be in Kingdom. The show is literally called Road To Kingdom because the winners are supposed to get to be in Kingdom. Why did they take the main prize away...

Performing at kcon? Wasn't that the first prize from that nugu voting competition they did in 2022? I remember there was a bunch of rounds and eventually the final round was performing at Mama and DKZ won. Now these kids are doing a whole grueling competition show known for killing groups' momentum just to perform at kcon???
As if Cravity, Oneus, and Xikers aren't big enough to go to kcon anyway lmao probably all of them it's not like kcon is a no nugus allowed zone.
