Fan's of the group Cignature have been speaking out online over the recent development of mistreatment towards the group by their company, especially towards the member Jeewon.

Mistreatment of Jeewon started around last year's waterbomb festival in which cignature was invited. All of the members were given fairly normal clothes, but Jeewon was only given a string bikini as a shirt.

Eunbi of Izone was also trending from last year's water bomb due being in a similar situation.

After this, Cignature's company, C9, sent Jeewon on an 18+ talk show where the host of the show was making inappropriate comments towards her about her outfit.

Jeewon was noticably uncomfortable during the show and was even covering her chest while the inappropriate comments were made.

Here is a fan translation of the clip and C9's original link to the show:

During the show the hosts also were showing pictures of Jeewon from the waterbomb and other stages, all of which were inappropriate angles of her chest.

Despite how uncomfortable Jeewon was, C9 recently announced Jeewon would now be a regular guest on this 18+ show.

Her most recent appearance angered both online Korean netizens and oversea fans. During that episode a famous Japanese "Adult Actress" was the guest on the show and she started commenting on Jeewon's body. The "actress" then went on to try to encourage Jeewon to join her in "her industry" because with her body she could become a top star in the field :jinjudge:

C9 later released a statement about the episode, you can read it here, but the gist of it is they are claiming they were shown an edited version of the episode without that part in it, but overall they trust the producers and have no issues with the episode as it was broadcasted.

Cignature's recent comeback, poongdung, has also been met with heavy criticism.

Fans are upset that all of the girls have now switched to wearing short skirts/shorts and short tight tops, and there are a lot of inappropriate shots in the MV such as shooting up the girls's skirts while they're jumping, the orange crushing scene, Jeewon running without an outfit with proper support, and Jeewon once again, only being given a bikini as a top.

I also won't include all of the clips here, but during this comeback Jeewon was constantly seen with outfits that did not support her or did not fit well, causing her to constantly try to readjust her clothes and always look uncomfortable.

During Jeewon's time on The Unit she was known for her smile and bubbly personality, but fans are growing especially concerned over the fact that her smile now seems to be fading 😢

Fans are currently trying to trend hashtags online to get C9 to better protect all of the girls, especially Jeewon.

It's hard to tell for Jeewon how she feels, as she's probably following whatever C9 is planning for her. But no doubt C9 isn't even trying to hide what they are trying to do with her and with the last MV

For a "nugu" group they are in a complicated situation since Jeewon got known, and not a little bit, for her body after the Waterbomb event. And she's getting invited to shows and now she's even going to be a host. It's quite an achievement for an idol coming from a "nugu group".
Her situation reminds me of Berry Good Johyun, which was a noticeable past example : known for her great body, pretty face and a personality suited for variety shows.

Jeewon got known for this, regardless of what we think about it, regardless if she likes it or not, so TV/YT shows will try to focus and profit on it as long as it gets views, it gets people to talk about it, etc. Otherwise PDs won't probably even invite her or any Cignature member. So for C9 they rather take this opportunity.

Jeewon will maybe talk about her experience in the future once she's done with C9 or done with her idol career, I think most fans and most people will think that she didn't like it. Maybe she'll push into that path since it's the only way to get known, as long as she's okay with it why not.
But the tendency is to think it will be the former option.

Moreover she's 25 and debuted 7 years ago, she's not a rookie, she's a grown woman, but I understand why fans are mad even if idol fans are often sensitive and over protective.

To sum up the issue, the dilemma : you get known for your body (or something you didn't expect, or something you didn't like) and you get invited in many shows only for that, otherwise you won't be known and you won't get invited, what do you choose ?
