Last December, it was reported that a 27 yr old "Choi" who is a former member of a Kpop group is being sent to trial for Illegally filming his girlfriend during "intimate times".
Choi's girlfriend was blindfolded and recorded over 18 times without her consent while they were intimate. It was reported that he used silent cameras and microphones during the acts so she would not know.
Choi's girlfriend is not the only victim. There is a second woman Choi is being charged with for illegally filming her while she was indecent in his room.
When the trial was first announced in December there was evidence of him admitting to the acts over text message, and today he formally admitted to the acts in court.
It has been implied that the culprit is 27 yr old Choi Woo Young of the former kpop group TST/Top Secret. The reason why it is believed to be him is because his name and age matches, and it was reported that this former idol debuted in a 5 member group in 2017 but left in 2019. Choi Woo Young debuted in TST in 2017 but left in 2019 due to unspecified "health issues'.
The group initially debuted as 7, but became a 5 member group when Choi left and another member, Lee Kyeongha, left in 2018 due to being sentenced 18 months in jail and 3 years of probation due to sexual harassment of a minor charges from 2014. (For some additional context, Lee was also a minor at the time of the incident and is being charged due to indecent harassment towards one of his same-age classmates he claimed to have had feelings for.)
TST disbanded in 2020. A member of the group, Yohan, also passed away that same year. The cause of is death is undisclosed.
TST's (former?) company has not made any official statements on this matter.
Since the trial is still ongoing a verdict has not been announced yet. The next update we will get will be around the middle of May.
