Lmao I hate how people are trying to create a mess out of nothing. Anyone who thinks that's cultural appropriation or racism needs to get their head checked thoroughly. The only problem with that scene is probably just the wording.

And before any sjw tries to get up in arms, I'm from Kenya(born and raised) and I've been to other African countries such as Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda as well as having friends at university who are from Congo and Nigeria. One thing Africans love is when other people show appreciation for their culture. And (G)I-DLE haven't mocked the culture(s) in any way.

Because that's the only type of traditional music Korean idols should be allowed to do right? Crap like that is just as annoying as the stuff Soyeon said.

Some of y'all act as if there should be a law that forbids certain people from doing certain types of music. I LOVE when non-Jamaican artists do reggae or dancehall music and take inspiration from my culture. There's a difference between doing that and the ignorant crap Soyeon was saying.

P.S. I still like Soyeon and (G)I-dle, but in this particular instance, I do think they deserve some criticism.

Uhm... I don't know G-Idle long enough for them to say that they did that, but in this case, I can see that it's kind of ignorant, I guess. Cultural Appropriation quite a strong word, but ignorance happened almost every day without we really realize it. And from my point of view here, the girls kind of have it. Instead of trying to reference all the culture and call it properly, they go with the "cool names" (maybe) that float around society and decide just to go with:

- the sound of a chief in African style
- bindi
- African musical instrument (....what?)
- ...last but not least ethnic hip

That's perfectly ignorant.
