How much of your shower is non-functional?

Spoiler: A long rant

One of my biggest pet peeves is when people waste time just standing there in the showers. As someone who grew up with siblings, and had to dorm in college, I hate when people do this cause you’re hogging the bathroom from other people who need to get stuff done.

I hate this. I am traumatized by this. I’ve literally had to wait over 2 hours to get into the bathroom before.

My life goal is to have my own place one day with my own bathroom, and if I ever get married one day a bathroom with a two-person sink is not enough for me. I want my own bathroom separate from my spouse. I never want to share a bathroom with someone ever again for the rest of my life, even if I’m married

If you live by yourself and/or have your own bathroom, take as much time as you want. But if you share a bathroom with other people please be considerate

Anyway since I was in the military and during our training period as the lowest rank, we were literally given just 3 minutes to shower, and at time just one minute. So we got drilled to showering fully functional. As to how we shower in one minute in the military, we do something called a powder bath. Doesn't feel good, but at least better than nothing

Very little, I'm an in and out kinda person. I used to soak in baths, until we had our bathroom renovated and swapped it for a bigger shower.

Lingering in the near-scalding water is one of the few luxuries I allow myself to indulge in regularly.


Of course, if there are others waiting, I'll opt for the 4 minute version and go about my business. It would seem impolite otherwise.

my showers are 100% functional, the hot water goes away after like, 15 minutes, and that's the max time it takes me to shower + shave...plus there's the extra time needed when I wash my hair

It is wet down. Turn off water. Soap and shampoo. Turn on water to rinse. The end.

I do really try to not linger in the shower (both for the environment and the water bill), but it’s just so warm and nice that I sometimes lose track of time, and suddenly I’ve been in the shower for over 20 minutes. I do turn off the water when I use shampoo and soap, though.
