How was your Spotify Wrapped this year?

My listening hours decreased since I've been listening via YouTube a lot more lately. So much PLAVE this year. I was expecting ILLIT to make it considering that 'IYKYK (If You Know You Know)' is, at least according to lastfm, one of my most-played tracks from 2024. Though I guess it could been a bit too close to the counting deadline to make much of a difference. 2/4 of my predictions were correct: '6th Summer' made it as well as 'FRI(END)S'. It's also the first time that BTS hasn't been my #1 artist. Likely bc of a lack of content. Though it's nice to see RM & V also filling out my top 5.

I had fully expected top 3 to be there, I have listened to them A LOT this year. Not really surprised at StayC either, but I kinda wasn’t expecting SHINee. I feel like I haven’t listened to them that much this year.
I have saved my Spotify wrapped’s since 2017, and there hasn’t yet been a year where SHINee haven’t been in the Top 5 artists, so I’m happy to continue that streak

I blocked BTS this year because the past 2 or 3 years BTS has randomly been in my top 5 despite myself not even listening to them much anymore. I admit I listened to Standing Next To You a ton this year, but in that case Jungkook would be listed as a top artist, not bts as a whole. (For the record I love BTS, I was just sick and tired of them showing up in my wrapped for no reason.)

There is currently a twitter war going on right now because this issue i'm having happens to tons of people every year. Tons of people are complaining about bts being in their top 5 despite not even listening to them much, and armys are attacking every one of these people saying to "look in the mirror", "data doesn't lie" and "why is this not happening to any other artist" (It's because only Hybe is crazy enough to pay spotify to bump BTS into people's top 5 .)

Other than that:

- I'm really surprised at Maniac beating out ABCD. Apparently I really liked Maniac more than I thought. I was in the Top 0.01% of listeners for the song.
- Dance The Night Away (Dua Lipa not Twice) being #2 doesn't shock me. I genuinely listen to that song every day. It's my life.
- I wasn't too trilled about Taemin's album this year, while I liked all of TBZ's albums, so congrats to TBZ for beating Taemin I guess?
- I got the fan message from Sabrina and wanted to cry I was so happy seeing it (I'm shocked Taemin didn't have one this year though?)

Majority K-pop GGs, with a large serving of Gorillaz. Nothing out of the ordinary for my taste :]

Top song is Holssi.
Top album is, by far, a Chillhop mix I keep on as background music while doing housework/studying, etc.
