He went by this name when he was in NUBOYZ, the group he was in pre-debut, that consited of Wonho, Shownu, Jooheon and #GUN

Apparently the other members almost had these stage names:

Shownu --> Zet
Minhyuk --> Yeha
Kihyun --> Yoo Hyun/ Hyun
Jooheon --> Either Black J or Law
Hyungwon --> H.ONE (he uses this as his DJ name now lol)

I think the reason he chose/was given that name is because he was known as Shin Hoseok as an ulzzang, so Shin + Hoseok = Sino
